For many families, summer is the most logical time to go on vacation. School’s out, the weather is nice, and those holiday weekends make it easier to take off work. Often, Disney World sees a spike in park attendance come summer, so it’s no surprise that many families plan to visit Orlando between June and August.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
We’re scouring the merchandise shops daily for new collections and hot merchandise, and we do our fair share of online shopping to prepare for our Disney trips as well. But we do our best to make sure you know all about any new snacks, drinks, or other treats that are coming to the resorts, parks, and Disney Springs. We also keep an eye on ALL the Disney World restaurant menus to track changes, so we’re going to look at what’s changed on those menus this week.
We’ve got great news from Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Tower of Terror
Tower of Terror is a top tier (see what I did there…like, it’s tall…you know?…OK never mind) attraction in Hollywood Studios, but the line can get quite long, and some of it is outside in the hot sun.
Now, Disney actually opened this ride with a way to keep you cool in line, but that whole shebang has been BROKEN for, like, ever. Well guess what! It’s been fixed!
Disney doesn’t share ALL of their secrets right away, but we may have just discovered some CLUES to future changes in one park.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a reimagined Pixar Place will be reopening soon, construction is still ongoing in part of Toy Story Land, and Roundup Rodeo BBQ has opened. But 2 permits we spotted recently could clue us into further changes.
It’s a big day over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Pixar Place
Pixar Place has been closed for quite some time. The area itself used to be the entrance to Toy Story Mania before Toy Story Land was built, but all of its attractions have been shut down for eons. Now all of that is changing, and the reopening of this area means that a very popular snack is finally returning!
Surprise! A special area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that’s been closed to the public has now reopened! And it looks pretty different!

The reimagined Pixar Place, located across from One Man’s Dream, and right before you get to the entrance of Toy Story Land, soft-opened today — ready for meet and greets and cookies!
When we head to the Disney World theme parks each morning, we usually see a few temporary closures impacting some of the rides and attractions. For example, Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom has had a couple of rough mornings recently and was down for a few hours a couple of days ago. Spaceship Earth in EPCOT was having trouble as well, and it was closed for a couple of hours in the morning two days in a row.
Cinderella Castle
These temporary closures generally only last a few hours, and you can keep checking the My Disney Experience app to see when the ride reopens that same day. However, some closures last for days, weeks, or even months. Disney generally plans those longer closures well in advance so that you’re aware of them before your visit. In order to help you plan for your trip, we have a full list here of everything that’ll be closed in the parks next week.
