Hello, everyone! Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? Boy, did it sneak up on us!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
Before we know it, it will be 2022! But until then, we’ll continue to keep an eye on all things 2021 at Disney World, like what’s been going on at the hotels (which are all decorated so beautifully this time of year). So let’s get on with the latest updates!
Earlier this year, Disney announced a new service that will be available through Amazon Alexa in your Disney World hotel room and at home — “Hey, Disney!”

We’ve taken a look at how the new service will enhance your hotel stay by answering questions and completing some requests. Though the service is optional, we asked our readers (That’s YOU!) if there are any privacy concerns with an Alexa device in your hotel room. Here’s what you said!

We’re doing great as we make our way across Disney World day in and day out, eating all the things like HOLIDAY treats, checking out all the fun new merchandise, and enjoying the holiday decorations at the parks. It’s a great time of the year to be at Disney World. But we’ve also spent some time at the Disney World hotels — so let’s see what’s new there!
There are a lot of new and exciting things coming to Disney World in 2022!
Magic Kingdom
Between a brand new roller coaster, Star Wars hotel, MagicBand+, and more, there’s a lot to look forward to. And, there’s even something new coming to Disney World hotels too — Amazon Alexa! So, soon you’ll have your own personal in-room assistant who can help you with a variety of requests (and even play games). But, not everyone is ready to embrace our Alexa overlords. Should you be concerned about this new service?

Now that we’ve done the Thanksgiving thing at Disney World, we’re ushering in the holidays — we started with the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, where we checked out some amazing food, some awesome entertainment, and got to watch the first Candlelight Processional since 2019! But we’ve also visited many of Disney World’s hotels to check out the latest there!

We’ve had a busy weekend full of news coming out of Destination 23 — we’ve learned even MORE about the Star Wars Hotel, we finally confirmed that Festival of Fantasy and Fantasmic! will return to Disney World soon, and we got even more details about MagicBand+. In the meantime, we’ve been checking out the hotels at Disney World, to see what’s new.
It’s no secret that Disney is all about embracing technology — not just in the parks, but also in ways that can benefit and assist guests visiting those parks.
New Incredibles-themed rooms at the Contemporary
Mobile Order has changed how we get food at the parks, Mobile Checkout has changed how we shop, and Disney Genie has changed how we plan our days in each park. And recently, we shared how Disney will use Amazon Alexa to offer guests their own Disney-themed digital assistant at home AND Disney World hotels.

What a week, right? The holidays have officially arrived and we’ve been to TWO after hours parties — one at Disney World AND one at Disneyland. And we’re eating a ton of holiday snacks and enjoying the holiday vibes at the parks and the hotels. Speaking of Disney World’s hotels… .
The Disney World parks aren’t the only ones getting in the festive mood right now.
Christmas Tree in EPCOT
We’ve seen a HUGE gingerbread house over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and a Little Mermaid-themed gingerbread carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Now we’re heading to another Disney hotel to see what kind of decorations they’ve got up!
Although Halloween has come and gone, we’re still in a fall mood!
Christmas Treats Arrive in Magic Kingdom
Disney has already started to add holiday decorations to the park, but not everyone is quite ready to switch out pumpkin spice to peppermint just yet. Since the season began, we’ve been trying pumpkin treats all over Disney World including a pumpkin mousse, a pumpkin macaron ice cream sandwich, and a pumpkin donut and cold brew combo. Now Disney has released a pumpkin treat and we had to go check it out!
