The hours are long, the weather is HOT, and people can have some not-so-magical attitudes. I used to work at the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom, and although most of my friends were my fellow maids, I did have a few friends in other roles. Well, friends talk, and you find out the BEST roles to have at Disney World, and you find out the WORST roles to have at Disney World. The consensus among Cast Members might surprise you!

I DIDN’T MEAN TO! I swear. I didn’t mean to break the rules during my time as a Disney World Cast Member, but I did. And I got in a teensy bit of trouble for it.

Cast Members have to abide by a lot of rules that a lot of folks probably don’t even think about. I mean, in the story I’m about to tell you, I didn’t even think about it and realize I was breaking a rule until it was a done deal. If you’re new to reading my Cast Member posts, I was a Disney College Program participant and was lucky enough to be placed at the Haunted Mansion. Yessirree, I used to be a Mansion Maid! I used to work at the Haunted Mansion, and not only did I learn SO MUCH about the attraction, I also had the opportunity to enter a lottery system to be able to do Backstage Tours of various other Disney World attractions. And, other Cast Members got to come and experience the Mansion from my perspective! One of my lovely co-workers here at DFB actually got to do a Backstage Tour of the Mansion, and together, we’ve teamed up to bring that tour to you.
