Remember just last week when we took you to the new Starbucks in Downtown Disney’s Marketplace? Well, we’re back at Downtown Disney already to show you the new homes of Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream!
Only today we’re on the very end of West Side. We were excited to spot the signs indicating construction of this location a while ago, especially since Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs aren’t strangers to Downtown Disney. Their previous location next to Bongos Cuban Café closed last October to make way for what will be the West Side Starbucks. (Wetzel’s Pretzels, meanwhile, has retained a small kiosk in the Marketplace.)
These cheerful walk-up shops are located right outside of Disney Quest (notice the blue wall behind) and across from Cirque du Soleil. For another point of orientation, you can see the House of Blues sign just across the way.
Aside from location, another key difference is [Read more…]

I’ll bet you’ve all spent a day or two (or more!) strolling around Epcot’s World Showcase…walking right past the Joy of Tea in the China Pavilion.
After all, with all of China’s gorgeous themeing inside the gate, who would happen to look outside of it?
Many folks assume it serves… well, just tea.
So they may not give it much thought as they make their way towards Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in the neighboring Norway Pavilion for a fix of School Bread.
But this fun grab-and-go stop actually offers so much more!
And here’s a DFB tip! You can try all of their snacks at once via the Lucky Combo.
The Lucky Combo is a terrific way to sample the eats at the J of T: the Curry Chicken Pocket, Chinese BBQ Pork Bun, and Egg Roll (if you order the snack portion of any of these, you get two of the item – for the Combo, you get one each).
The Lucky Combo also includes your choice of ice cream (Caramel Ginger or Strawberry Red Bean), AND a can of soda to quench your thirst!
The price? $9.98 for everything. Score! That’s less than the cost of one turkey leg!
I took my Combo over to the seating area at the Lotus Blossom Café.
Let’s go down the list, shall we?
Starting with the Curry Chicken Pocket (AJ’s a fan!), the center is [Read more…]

The creative minds behind the dishes coming out of L’Artisan des Glaces in Epcot’s France Pavilion are at it again!
Home to Ice Cream Martinis, Pressed Brioche Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Chocolate Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches, L’Artisans has introduced another cold treat that’s perfect for the rising temps: the Café Glacé, an Iced Cappuccino with ice cream and whipped cream!
With the exception of the Chocolate Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich (since there is no improving upon chocolate and chocolate 😉 ), some of the fun behind the treats at L’Artisans is that they are customizable with your choice of 16 flavors of house-made ice cream and sorbet.
The same is true of the Café Glacé: pretty much the only dilemma here is picking your flavor. Even after I had placed my order and paid, I still wasn’t sure which scoop of ice cream to choose.
It was a tough call considering the options of White Chocolate Coconut and Hazelnut, but ultimately I went with the Caramel fleur del sel (salted caramel).
While the base of this beverage makes it what it is, you can’t ignore the [Read more…]

It’s time for some seeeeeeeerious recommendations, friends!!! Do you have your planning spreadsheets ready?!?
As much as I love my classics (Dole Whip!!!), I have found some brand new delicious Disney treats to add to the list of my favorites in 2014.
If you’re looking to try some new things, or you’re just curious about what fun new finds we’re celebrating, read on — and discover My 7 Favorite New Disney Food Items for 2014!
There’s nothing like finding something completely new and original while you’re strolling through the parks. And I wasn’t disappointed on a recent trip through Epcot’s France Pavilion.
We all love L’Artisan des Glaces Sorbet and Ice Cream Shop. I mean, 16 delicious, artisan ice creams and sorbets made right here in Epcot (I’ve seen the machines)!
PLUS Ice Cream Martinis and Chocolate Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches. Are you kidding me?? Utter yumness.
But stop the presses! (Ha! That will be even funnier after you finish reading this.) Because they’ve also added Croque Glaces — Pressed Ice Cream Sandwiches.
If you love ice cream sandwiches as much as I do, you’ve gotta try this. They take a freshly baked Brioche Bun, add a scoop of your choice of Ice Cream, and a drizzle of your choice of Raspberry or Chocolate Sauce. (Yep! It’s totally customized!)
Then, the top of the bun is replaced, and the whole thing is [Read more…]

Hooray! We’re finally celebrating our first taste of Spice Road Table!
We’ve been eating our little hearts out at Epcot’s newest tapas restaurant and we can’t wait to tell you all about it!
Our review will be broken into a few parts, since there’s SO much to share!
Spice Road Table will be soft opening on Saturday for the public (a grand opening has not yet been scheduled), and we want to hear what you think! The tapas-only restaurant features small plates (which means you can order a LOT!) as well as specialty drinks, a full bar, wines, beers, and more.
There’s even some chef-crafted ice cream (we got to try all five flavors!!) — scroll down to see our review and some fun pics!
But first, let’s take a look around…
Here you’ll see pictures of the new Juice Bar, the outdoor seating at the restaurant, and even the indoor decor! It’s gorgeous!! We can’t wait for you to check it out!
Spice Road Table, Epcot’s newest restaurant taking up residence on the shores of World Showcase Lagoon in the Morocco Pavilion, will surely be a destination for many Disney food lovers like me!
The space combines 60 indoor seats and 120 outdoor seats, so guests will be comfortable no matter the weather. Now, let’s take a peek INSIDE the restaurant!
As you can see, the space inside is small, but well appointed. There is a view of the water from every single table through the giant wall of windows looking onto World Showcase Lagoon.
Yep — this will absolutely be a hot ticket for the fireworks!
Decor elements include bright colors, plenty of Moroccan additions, and some truly gorgeous lamps and lanterns.
But, of course, the main draw is the view!! I’m looking forward to sitting at this table soon!
The atmosphere was meant to [Read more…]

Okay, so that’s the name of my FAVORITE sundae at Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort…as well as an exclamation of surprise!
I’m here to give you lot a heads up that Beaches and Cream, our favorite go-to when you DON’T have a reservation for a restaurant in Disney World, is now taking online and phone advance dining reservations.
With an upcoming Disney trip, our DFB editor, Kim, just booked lunch for early January!!
And… my Mom (yep, AJ’s Mom for those who have met her) is at Walt Disney World right now and confirmed with the restaurant! Reservations officially begin booking for December 18th and later, but if you call 407-WDW-DINE now, Walt Disney World Dining will accept and honor your reservation prior to that date. Woohoo!!
If you visit Disney Dining online, you’ll now see Beaches and Cream has the “Find A Table” option!
If you are booking online, available tables will first begin showing for December 18th. Holiday visitors should book their upcoming lunch or dinner at Beaches and Cream now. Once word gets out, these [Read more…]

Remember that cool ice pop freezer we found a while ago in Epcot’s Japan pavilion? (Get it – cool … freezer – oh, never mind.)
The happy freezer has more than just ice pops in it these days. Meet the Mochi.
Mochi is actually a Japanese version of a marshmallow, sweet and somewhat bland, but with a smooth texture and easy chew.
The product sold here is mochi ice cream — a golf-ball-sized scoop [Read more…]

It’s time to take an ice cream break! And I know just the place — Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom!
This cool spot offers up soft serve for guests who are looking for a little refreshment between attractions…but they have some other fun menu items too! Time to check it out.
Auntie Gravity’s is located in that thoroughfare that meshes Fantasyland into Tomorrowland. You’ll find this little spot directly across from the Tomorrowland Speedway.
The signage with the name of the location hangs on the wall of the building — viewable only from the Fantasyland side.
So if you’re searching for Auntie Gravity’s and coming from Tomorrowland, keep a look out for the ginormous “Ice Cream and Smoothies” sign that hangs overtop both doors leading into the shop.
There’s not a lot of atmosphere to speak of in the small space! There’s just enough room for a few counter-service stands and a walk-up window to get your goodies.
Once you get your eats, you’ll head back outside to a group of tables just beyond the doorway. Keep on the look-out for PUSH, the talking trash can in this area! (You can also take advantage of indoor seating at Cosmic Rays, which is just next door.)
Auntie Gravity’s is purely a snack stop, so it’s great for a midday treat or after meal dessert most of the time. But one of the more unique options you’ll find here is the Iced Coffee Float, a fan favorite. I’ve only seen these at a few other locations, like Sunshine Tree Terrace.
The exception to the “find no meals here” rule is [Read more…]
