But, Iger has announced that he plans to step down in 2026, leaving us wondering just who will take his place. A succession search committee has been at work for a while now, and it sounds like we may be getting closer to having our answer.
Disney fans were stunned back in 2022 when the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek, stepped down, only to be replaced by Bob Iger, who held the position before Chapek. Ever since Iger’s return, there’s been speculation about who will replace Iger when he (re)retires in 2026.

Iger has only signed on for a 2-year return to Disney, and a succession planning committee has been created which is tackling the hunt for Iger’s successor.
