This weekend, Disney hosted the massive D23 Ultimate Fan Event in Anaheim, California. The sprawling convention broke news from across Disney’s spectrum of offerings, including films, television streaming, video games, and parks.
There won’t be any whip-cracking or hat-saving over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today.

After months of rumors, and talk of blue sky possibilities, Disney has confirmed a NEW land is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This new land will be called Pueblo Esperanza and will take over the existing Dinoland U.S.A. area. This new land will include THREE new attractions and one of the largest Quick Service restaurants in the world. With everything confirmed so far, there is one attraction we’re dreaming of…

We’re always seeing auctions for things like actual ride vehicles, animatronics used in rides, animatronic skins, and more! It’s all about nostalgia, right? Well, if you’re still nostalgic about Disney World’s The Great Movie Ride (gone, but not forgotten), you might just have to raise some serious cash for a piece of Disney ride history on eBay.
As much as we love the Disney World of the past, it’s the exciting changes and innovations that keep us coming back to the parks.

Disney has recently announced a TON of theme park expansion plans — from new lands in Disneyland and Tokyo Disney to more than one expansion in Disney World — we’re excited about them all. But, if you ask us, there’s one update in particular that we can’t wait for!
We heard about lots of ambitious projects that Disney World looks to complete over the next few years.

Several of the announcements that originally came from Destination D23 were things like closing Dinoland U.S.A., exploring what could be beyond Big Thunder Mountain, and a possible expansion for the Magic Kingdom park. According to Variety, Marc Thorpe, the visual effects artist who worked on the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films has passed away.

Thorpe’s death was announced by his daughter on social media. Thorpe had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 30 years ago.
Piecing together what’s next for Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is starting to feel like one giant string board that we’re all feverishly trying to follow.

Back at the beginning of September, Disney dropped some MAJOR hints about what’s coming to Disney World. One of those hints was that Animal Kingdom is going to be getting some updates. Disney shared with us some concept art for what this update might look like. So we took a closer look at the concept art for the proposed new Encanto and Indiana Jones lands that could be taking over the Dinoland U.S.A. area in Animal Kingdom.
