In 2023, The Walt Disney Company completed a series of company-wide layoffs, and it seems there could be more job cuts in the future.
It’s been a little over six months since Bob Iger returned as the Walt Disney Company’s CEO, but in that short amount of time, the company has gone through a LOT of changes.

Not only has Iger overseen a series of “organizational and operations changes,” but there have also been some serious budget cuts made to the tune of $5.5 billion. A portion of those budget cuts included laying off 7,000 employees, and the company has now met that goal.Â
Thousands of job cuts have already affected Disney employees recently, and thousands more will be happening this week.

CEO Bob Iger announced in February that The Walt Disney Company was implementing a plan to cut $5.5 billion in annual costs, and part of that plan involved about 7,000 job cuts across the company. The first wave of layoffs and job cuts happened in March, and the next wave (and the biggest one) is happening this week (the week of April 24th). Now, we have more details about those cuts.
