TRON Lightcycle / Run officially opened on April 4th, 2023, after welcoming guests for a short while via previews. Disney fans have waited YEARS (literally) for this ride to open, and there are many questions surrounding the highly-anticipated coaster. One of those is how TRON compares to other Disney World coasters!

Now, Disney has released some new information as we get closer to the opening date!
Now that we know when the TRON roller coaster is expected to open in Magic Kingdom, we’re even more excited about this future thrill ride!
TRON Lightcycle Run
TRON Lightcycle Run has been in progress since 2017 when it was announced at the D23 Expo, and it was originally supposed to open back in 2021 for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Instead, TRON’s opening was delayed after Disney World closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on construction progress by taking a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Recently Disney announced that TRON would open April 4, 2023, and construction is moving along!
