Iger announced $5.5 billion in spending cuts, which included plans for over 7,000 job cuts throughout the company. We’ve already seen a few rounds of these cuts happen, but recently another 75 job cuts have been made–and this time some major Pixar executives were affected.
Pixar’s Lightyear excited fans around the world in the months leading up to its release. Trailers seemed to tease this spinoff as a glimpse into Buzz Lightyear’s past, so many expected it to be about the beloved character from Toy Story.

However, the movie wasn’t like that at all. Millions of Disney fans were unsatisfied with this story because of the lack of connection between this story and the classic Toy Story characters. Ultimately, the movie was a bit of a flop compared to other Pixar films. Why? What went wrong? Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter recently explained.

Disney+ subscribers in some countries won’t be able to screen several of Pixar’s new releases.
Lightyear Ears in Magic Kingdom
Ahead of its release in theaters, it was reported that Pixar’s new movie, Lightyear, was unable to get permission to be shown in theaters in 14 countries in the Middle East and Asia. Now, it appears that Disney+ subscribers in the region will also be unable to stream the new movie, along with BAYMAX!, Pixar’s new series.

If you’re like us, you probably are, and you’ve been enjoying all those amazing Star Wars movies and TV shows, classic Disney movies, Marvel shows and movies, and more! There’s just so much to watch! But you might want to know when the most recently released Disney movie will arrive on the service. Well, now, we’ve got an answer!
It’s no secret that Disney loves a good superhero origin story.
Buzz Lightyear
We recently got to see how one beloved Galactic Hero got his start in Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear, and got to meet some adorable new characters along the way. The film didn’t do quite as well as expected on opening weekend, and a lot of talk has surrounded Disney’s decision to not include Tim Allen (who originally voiced Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story movies) in it. Allen recently commented on the matter for the first time, and now, another Toy Story actor has spoken up.
We’re still waiting on a launch date for an exciting new service — MagicBand+!
MagicBand+
MagicBand+ will give guests the classic MagicBand functionality, as well as new experiences, like the ability to interact with 50th-Anniversary statues, or the opportunity to become a Bounty Hunter in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! But, if you’re not looking to upgrade to MagicBand+ when it releases, that’s totally fine! Your classic MagicBand will still work around Disney World.
