While this sweet, unique treat is usually available all year round at Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland, it’s debuting this week at Edelweiss Snacks for Limited Time Magic!

The Matterhorn Macaroon first made its appearance at Blue Ribbon Bakery way back when, and has delighted coconut-loving Disney guests ever since!

Guest Review: Disney’s Worms & Dirt Cupcake for Earth Day!

In honor of Disney World’s Limited Time Magic events for “Earth Week,” guests have access to a few new “earthy” treats in the parks!

The best one, in my opinion, is the Worms & Dirt Cupcake featuring a teensy flower pot on top!

My good friend Daniel Wanderman has been touring the parks this week and was lucky enough to get a taste — check it out! (Love the choice of setting here, Daniel — The Victory Garden in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!)

Here’s what Daniel has to say…

The worms & dirt cupcake debuted today at Fairfax Fare on Sunset blvd. This fun cupcake honors Earth week by mimicking the traditional “worms in dirt” dessert with a few twists. This one takes a chocolate cupcake and tops it with a ring of frosting. But why stop there?

The frosting is powdered with cake crumbs (dirt!), chocolate sprinkles (more dirt?), and garnished with gummy worms, a candy flower pot, and chocolate candy flowers. The best part is a delicious chocolate pudding surprise inside.

As a vegetarian and avid gelatin avoider, I pushed the gummy worms and sprinkles aside and dug right into the pudding center. The pudding was cold and delicious, which was quite refreshing on a hot, humid, park hopping Disney day.

Easter Egg Hunting in Disney California Adventure

Happy Easter Everyone! On this treat filled day, we wanted to share a fun event that happened recently in Disney California Adventure. As part of the Limited Time Magic campaign, Disney has been introducing special activities for guests including a handful of Annual Passholder events.

My boys and I headed over on a Friday after school for an Easter Egg Hunt around the park. The event was very well organized. Egg Hunt Maps were available for purchase inside Elias & Co. on Buena Vista St.

For just $4.95, you got a map and a sheet of stickers to place on the map as you found each egg. Upon finishing or not finishing the hunt (because everyone’s a winner!) you turn your map in for a fun prize.

The maps had 10 “clues” on them; each corresponding to an area in the park where an egg was hidden. The goal was to travel to each spot, search for the egg, and then place the corresponding sticker on top of the clue.

We were already near Carthay Circle, so we went hunting for that one first. Since we weren’t sure about the size or look of the eggs, we really were a bit lost. However with one hint from a fabulous cast member, we were able to get the hang of it real quick. All we had to do was look up to spot a big Mickey Egg perched right on top of Carthay Circle Restaurant’s balcony.

Review: Limited Time Magic Golden Horseshoe Revue Dinner in Disneyland

Disney’s Limited Time Magic events have begun, and Disneyland is currently celebrating with “A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue.” This is a nod to the original show that Walt Disney created in 1955.

Show Details

The show features comedy, songs, and dancing set to a fun musical score that will make you want to dress up, put a feather in your hair, and learn to Can-Can.

Tables and Clean Glasses Available for Ladies!

Tuesdays through Mondays now until February 4th, the “flashback” show can be seen a few times a day with a special Annual Passholder only showing at 6:30. The annual passholder show is $35 and you must make reservations in advance though the annual passholders events line at (714) 781-PASS.

The Annual Passholder show is a $35 ticketed event that includes dinner & reserved seating for the revue. If you’re not a passholder, stop at guest services to get a ticket to one of the earlier shows.

Please note that the entertainment is exactly the same as the shows performed during the day. So, if you don’t feel a need to spend $35 or aren’t interested in the foods being served at the Annual Passholder event, I highly recommend you still go check out one of the Thursday through Monday tribute shows.

Eats

Starter: Corn chips in a souvenir Golden Horseshoe boot mug
Entrees: Black forest ham and roast beef sandwiches
Sides: Golden raisin and carrot salad, Yukon golden potato salad, Very Berry fruit salad
Children’s Menu (available upon request): 2 PB&J sandwiches with sides
Vegetarian Option (available upon request): Vegetable and cheese sandwiches with sides
Beverages: Mint Julep, water, coffee
Dessert: Walt & Lilly’s 30th Anniversary Celebration Cake

We started off with our table being adorned with Fritos in a boot. My absolute favorite item of the evening: Crunchy, salty Fritos served up in a take home souvenir Golden Horseshoe plastic boot (which I plan to fill with root beer floats at home in the near future).
