We Did NOT Expect to See a LONG Line for This Disney World Attraction Today!

Now that the kick-off of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary has, well…kicked off, crowds are a little more manageable at the parks again.

But it IS the weekend, which means there are a few more people in the parks today than previously this week. They are ready to eat some 50th anniversary snacks, take in a nighttime show or two, and try to find all the 50 golden character statues. We’re doing the same, but we’ve noticed something odd: the longest line today is actually for something that surprised us!

Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations have officially begun!

We’ve already grabbed some new treats, checked out the refillable resort mugs, and grabbed a FREE souvenir. But, there’s still a whole lot more to do. If you’re visiting Disney World right now, just as the 50th Anniversary celebrations start, you might be concerned about long lines for Disney World’s rides, especially given the pretty substantial crowds we’ve seen in the parks. Rise of the Resistance Now Has a Standby Line in Disney World — See the CROWDS from Today!

It’s always been a little bit tricky to get onto the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The ride usually uses a virtual queue, which fills up just minutes after it opens each day at 7AM and 1PM. But today was the first day that it switched to a standby queue instead, with guests lining up in person rather than joining an online queue.
