We’ve been keeping up with the latest McDonald’s news and announcements because let’s face it — we might love McDonald’s almost as much as we love Disney. And, McDonald’s is making us want to book a flight for the latest Happy Meal Toys coming soon!
Oh, the times they are a-changin’! Change is inevitable — be it at the Disney Parks or the non-theme park world. Sometimes those changes are a product of trends and one major trend has us contemplating the future of a major fast-food chain.

We make it a point to follow the trends, especially at the Disney Parks. For example, last month we noticed Ozempic’s (a Type 2 diabetes medication now also used for weight management) rise in popularity and considered its possible effects on Disney World’s profits. This got us thinking —Â how might the Ozempic trend affect a mega fast-food chain’s profits, such as McDonald’s?

Hey, don’t judge us. Yes, we go to McDonald’s a lot. Um, we HAD to try that Double Big Mac, for…well…for SCIENCE. We also had to try to collect all the Disney100 Happy Meal toys when they came out (sadly, our collection will forever be incomplete). Now, we have to go get one of our favorite shakes EVER because the Shamrock Shake is returning to McDonald’s.Â
Just when we thought we’d seen it all from McDonald’s, they go and do something that really surprises us.

We’ve seen cryptic texts, double Big Macs, Crocs (no, we’re not kidding) and more, but this latest viral campaign may just take the cake. We recently got a text from Mickey D’s about winning free burgers for a year, and now we finally have all the details!
Why do we talk about McDonald’s so much, you may ask?

Well, McDonald’s and Disney have a long history together; there’s literally a McDonald’s on Disney World property, plus we often see Disney-themed Happy Meal toys. If you’re a big fan of the fast food restaurant like we are, you’ll never believe the text message we were just sent.
If you ever catch us NOT eating at Disney World chowing down on Corn Dog Nuggets with Plastic Cheese, eating Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, and enjoying some sweets from Main Street Confectionery, then there’s a good bet we’re having a meal at McDonald’s.
Double the love
We’ve been collecting Happy Meal toys (OBVIOUSLY) but we go there for the food, too. So, when we heard a Double Big Mac was coming to McDonald’s, you KNOW we had to go grab one for ourselves — and we might be writing this from the grave.
Disney food has always been our obsession, but we have acquired a new fascination — McDonald’s Happy Meal toys.

We collected tons of the Disney100 Happy Meal toys, grabbed a Squishmallow toy, and picked up a Kerwin Frost Box for a nuggie buddy! We have become fans of the red and yellow kids’ meals (because, you know, food), but even more fixated on the cute little toys that come in them. Now that the Squishmallow toys have left the boxes, what has replaced them?!
