It’s (HALLOWEEN) party time!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is BACK, and we’re trying all the food, shopping all the exclusive merchandise, and watching the special parade and fireworks. It’s one of our very favorite nights of the year for all of these reasons and one more — the exclusive character meet and greets that come along with the party!
What pops into your mind when you think about Hollywood Studios in Disney World?
Hollywood Studios is home to some pretty iconic rides like Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rise of the Resistance. And those aren’t even half of all you can explore and do. That being said, there are some hard truths you need to know about this park.
One of the most FUN parts of visiting Disney World is meeting the characters — Disney World character interactions are the BEST!
We’ve had some amazing interactions with many of the Disney princesses, Mickey and his friends, Pixar characters, and more. We’ve visited almost all the character meet and greet locations in Disney World, plus we’ve eaten at all of the character dining experiences. However, these special meet-and-greets become even more special when you get to experience a rare one, and we’ve got a SUPER rare meet-and-greet experience to tell you about that is coming up soon.
When you think of Disney World, what is the first thing that pops in your mind? For many, it may be the Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom is home to lots of iconic rides including Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and “it’s a small world.”
There is so much to explore and do inside of Magic Kingdom, and while we think it is a truly magical place, there are also some hard truths to know about this park.
Sure, Disneyland has a ton of fun rides, great entertainment (have you SEEN the Magic Happens parade?), and fun seasonal events (we are currently OBSESSED with Pixar Fest), but it also has some pretty amazing character meet and greets.
As Disney World folks, we’re also often jealous of the meet and greets that come to Disneyland. Did you know you can meet OSWALD in Disneyland? Plus, there are so many fun limited-time meet and greets like Mei Lee and her mom, Ming Lei, from Turning Red. It looks like another ICONIC character duo could be coming to Disneyland soon.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park has made some big changes recently, specifically when it comes to characters!
Russell and Dug from Up recently got their old meet-and-greet back in Discovery Island, and just a few days ago, Pocahontas, Goofy, and Pluto started meeting in the park again as well. However, with the return of all these character meet and greets, we’ve been mourning the loss of the old character flotillas that sailed the Discovery River. Because of all these changes, Animal Kingdom had to update its park map for the first time in over a YEAR!
We just had a big day of announcements for Walt Disney World. There are special character meet and greets coming to BOTH Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a new DRONE show is coming to Disney Springs, and a new seating area opened in Animal Kingdom.
Plus, we got some REALLY exciting news regarding a new Encanto show and the OFFICIAL OPENING DATE for CommuniCore Hall and Plaza Festival Area in EPCOT! It was A LOT, and we are still recovering from all the news!
Recently, a long-awaited change took place in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You may have noticed that while some character meet-and-greets have gone back to normal (close interactions) after the 2020 park closures, other characters have remained behind dividers of some kind in “character sightings.” This is where you’d see Chip and Dale having a picnic in Hollywood Studios, or watch Pooh with his butterfly net in EPCOT. Just this month, a popular meet and greet FINALLY returned in Hollywood Studios, but fans are pretty divided on it.Â
We have been spending A TON of time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently.
With spending so much time there, we have come across some…well, unfortunate scenarios. Some of these issues are one-off moments, but other things happen fairly often. Like, every day (we wish we were joking, too). We’ve seen things as small as shows cut short due to weather (ahem, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular) and other things as big as not being allowed through the turnstiles of the park right until the park opens — which differs from some of the other Disney World theme parks. Throughout our time here, we have noticed five unfortunate things that happen almost every. single. time. we go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. [Read more…]
