Well, folks, it’s officially the opening week for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World!! And Disney has shared additional details for the new Star Wars hotel (called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser), which makes us even more excited for this new immersive experience!
Today, we spotted a few new Star Wars-themed drinks at the Starbucks location in Disney Springs!
We are more than ready for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to open THIS MONTH on August 29th, and now Hollywood Studios’ newest land is getting even more real.
The land’s map is now live on the My Disney Experience app and on Disney World’s website!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened with a bang at Disneyland Park on May 31, and the Disney World version blasted off a few weeks later on August 29.
And with so much to experience in this immersive new land, we’re taking a look at seven things — big and small! — that you CAN’T miss when you visit Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu!

It’s FINALLY time to travel to a galaxy far, far away…in Disney World!
While many of us will have to wait until August 29th to see Galaxy’s Edge in person, the newest Hollywood Studios land will be opening the doors to Batuu for Annual Passholders a little bit earlier.
It’s time for YOU to take control of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run!
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is one of what will ultimately be two attractions in Galaxy’s Edge. (Its counterpart, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will open later this year.)
And when you step into Smugglers Run, you’ll be on a mission. Through your assigned role of Pilot, Engineer, or Gunner, you’ll help your crew either succeed or fail in transporting contraband cargo as directed by Hondo Ohnaka. [Read more…]
The Play Disney Parks app will give guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge the chance to interact with the land in truly unique ways. It will, in essence, be converted into your very own Star Wars datapad once you set foot on the planet Batuu.
Today, Disney has revealed a few more details on the app’s features within Galaxy’s Edge, and we’ll start by taking a look at how it will enhance your experience in the land’s opening day attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Not only will there be no shortage of things to see in the queue for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run… there will be even more ways to stay entertained in line with an in-queue game via Play Disney Parks! [Read more…]
The upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will ultimately house two attractions — Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
While we’ll have to wait until after Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens to ride Rise of the Resistance (which will open in a second phase for the land on both coasts), Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will open with the rest of the land on opening day (May 31st for Disneyland and August 29th for Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios).
But there IS a way to check out Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run even before Galaxy’s Edge opens on either coast… [Read more…]
We were able to literally set foot into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge last week to catch a glimpse of the incredible land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While photos were not permitted, you can read about what we saw here!
But today, YOU can take your own first look, because D23 has released photos which will allow everyone to peek inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And it looks seriously INCREDIBLE. So, let’s explore this insanely detailed land together!
Naturally, those famous Disney details will extend to all five dining options in Galaxy’s Edge, including the land’s fast-casual restaurant, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo where below you’ll see examples of details that tie in important Star Wars history and information.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo will be packed with crates carrying the finest food ingredients from all over the galaxy to the kitchen of Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs. The 80 seen in these two photos (above and below) is a reference to the year that The Empire Strikes Back debuted in theatres. Pretty cool, right? Also, be on the lookout for 77 and 83, the years that the other two films from the original trilogy were released!
Were YOU able to score one of the no-cost, required reservations to enter Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in its opening weeks?
If so, then first of all… LUCKY YOU!! Second, we’ve got the scoop on how the 4-hour time slots allotted to those visiting the land during the required reservation period (from May 31 – June 23, 2019) will be enforced to allow the next group of reservation-holding visitors to set foot on planet Batuu.
