We just celebrated May the 4th in Disney World with new merchandise, tasty treats, and some galactic surprises, but now there’s another holiday to celebrate!

It’s Cinco de Mayo! There’s not as much going on in Disney World for the holiday compared to Star Wars Day, but we DID find a new treat that we just had to try out — so let’s go!
Disney World certainly likes to keep us on our toes, and they recently surprised us with a couple of MAJOR soft openings in EPCOT. Connections Café opened unexpectedly, which is the new Starbucks location in EPCOT. When we first went go check it out, the Connections Eatery (which shares a space with the Café) wasn’t quite ready for guests yet. But now that has CHANGED!

Connections Eatery also had a soft opening with its full menu available for guests to try! Of course we had to head inside to check out the space and try some of the eats. Have you ever been walking around Animal Kingdom and thought “I wish I had a comfy seat in the AC and a nice cocktail right about now?” If you have, you gotta head over to Nomad Lounge!

Nomad Lounge is connected to Tiffins on Discovery Island (right before you walk down toward Pandora) and is a first come, first served bar and lounge. The inside has large lounge chairs and a big bar and the outside has a really nice deck in the shade where you can feel like you’re in an oasis. This is one of our favorite spots to chill, have a drink, and some snacks! They have some of the best churros in Disney, delicious drinks, and some fun limited time menu offerings. And, today is a good day, because there’s a NEW dessert over at Nomad Lounge, so come with us to check it out!
2022 has been a BIG year for Disney!

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser started accepting guests, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened in EPCOT, and we got many popular entertainment options back — that all happened in the first half of the year! On top of that, we’ll be getting yet ANOTHER new restaurant in 2022.Â
We’re eating our way around one of EPCOT’s prettiest festivals at this year’s Festival of the Arts.

We’ve already tried some delicious (and BEAUTIFUL) eats, but we’re not about to stop! The next Food Studio that we’re hitting is in the Italy pavilion — it’s L’Arte di Mangiare, which features (what else?) Italian cuisine. Today, the Flavors of Florida event started in Disney Springs (where you’ll get the chance to grab some new items at a whole bunch of different spots), and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be starting soon.
