We have to say it: We miss Disney fireworks more than anything right now. Although nighttime spectaculars are on pause right now, EPCOT has still been moving forward with the construction on Harmonious!

Although the show was originally supposed to open in spring of this year, progress was delayed when the parks first closed. Now, EPCOT has put barges in place as permits state that more materials are being gathered and fireworks will be tested throughout the end of 2021.
We don’t know about you, but we’re starting to miss all the great nighttime entertainment at Disney World. BIG SIGH.

We’re even a little jealous that Tokyo Disneyland Resort recently saw the return of its nighttime parades and fireworks! Someday, we’ll get to hear those colorful exploding things in the sky synchronized to our favorite music at Disney world again, right?

This show has been on our minds for a WHILE and with the park closures, we’re not too sure when we’ll finally get to see it hit the waters of World Showcase Lagoon. So, it’s pretty exciting whenever we see a potential sign of work on the area of Harmonious — and we saw a sign today!
We’re not sure what we miss the most from the pre-closure days of Disney World, but fireworks are definitely up there on our list.

One of the most high-profile changes was the suspension of nightly fireworks and nighttime spectaculars — and they remain suspended even now. Whenever a NEW nighttime spectacular debuts, we’re always pumped to spot the new ways that Disney uses tech in these shows. We’ve been wondering about the addition of drones to Disney shows for a while now. We saw them used in Disney Springs a few years ago. And Universal used them recently as well. Some of the concept art for EPCOT Forever made us think we might see them, but it’s just really cool kites instead.
But don’t fear, Disney IS still working hard on ways to incorporate drones in live shows!
Shanghai Disneyland reopened to guests on May 11, 2020. Of course, as has been the case with other Disney Parks around the globe — including Walt Disney World Resort — experiences around the park have been modified or suspended during the initial reopening phase in light of new health and safety measures.

Several days ago, we reported that signs indicated that Disneyland might reopen in July. And our suspicions were confirmed today when Disneyland proposed a reopening date of July 17th for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure!
