There are so many amazing snacks to enjoy within the parks of Walt Disney World! We can all rattle them off — school bread in Epcot, killer mac and cheese in Animal Kingdom, cupcakes everywhere — and so on, and so on.
But what happens if you want to get some crazy good Disney treats — but you don’t have a park ticket? Maybe you’ve gotten to town late, and you don’t want to burn a park day. Or maybe you’re between renewal dates for your pass. Or maybe you’re just wondering about some great treats you haven’t tried yet.
We’re here to help! Because some of our all-time, must-have, super-crave-worthy treats can be found outside of the parks. How amazing is that? And if you love the great suggestions we’re sharing here, be sure to check out the 2019 DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining for even more great snacking tips!
Who doesn’t love Dole Whip? That’s right. Nobody. So we start with the Quintessential Disney Treat — and tell you where to get it outside of Magic Kingdom (and the other parks at which it’s lately started to appear).
Of course, one of your options is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. [Read more…]
arrived on Disney’s BoardWalk in May of this year.
And here’s something you should know: the new Disney location for this Brooklyn-based ice cream company is pretty nice about letting you try samples of their sixteen house-made flavors.
Which is almost a problem. Because choosing between Peppermint Pattie, Cotton Candy, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, PB Wins the Cup, and the rest (including the BoardWalk’s exclusive flavor, Sally Sells Seashells) almost gets MORE difficult after you taste them. You just kind of want them ALL.
And that’s where the spot’s Ice Cream Flights come in awfully handy! So we’re back to check out those Flights along with a couple of Hard Floats that hit the scene a little while back.
The Ice Cream Flights are $10.19, and you get to choose six flavors per Flight. It’s a fun way to try several when you just can’t decide. (I mean, sure, they are keen on the samples, but they gotta draw the line somewhere 😉 !)
My friend and I grabbed a couple flights so that we could try twelve out of the sixteen flavors. Here are some mini reviews to go along with these mini scoops! (By the way, while “bite-size” is obviously different for everyone, I’d estimate that each scoop gives about four-five bites of ice cream.) [Read more…]
Let’s head over to Ample Hills Creamery on the Disney World Boardwalk for our next DFB Video!
This new location on the Boardwalk offers house-made ice cream, sundaes, unique cones, ice cream flights, floats, and more! You can see our original Ample Hills review here!
But if you want to see the place in action, check out our latest DFB video review. Check out one of our favorite concoctions: an Ooey Gooey Butter Cake Sundae!
We gave you a Sneak Peek last week…
… and now we’re back to give you a First Look at the brand new Ample Hills Creamery on Disney’s Boardwalk!
Just a few days ago, the walls came down around the newest ice cream parlor in Disney World and we were able to steal a glimpse of the spot located right next door to the ESPN Club. But now Ample Hills Creamery is currently in soft openings, and we were able to pop in for what we’ve all been waiting for… ICE CREAM!!
First, though, just a note that soft openings are like a “dress rehearsal” for new eateries and attractions around Disney World. This means that there are no guarantees that the spot will be operating at any given time, and — in the case of restaurants — the menu may not be finalized, or certain ingredients may not be available until everything is official. In the case of Ample Hills Creamery, the anticipated official opening will take place on May 15th.
But we just couldn’t wait any longer to get a taste for ourselves so we could bring it to YOU… so welcome to the first Ample Hills Creamery location outside of New York State, right here in Disney World! [Read more…]

I’m having a TON of fun at Disney World this week! And my trip has been made all the better by seeing that the construction walls surrounding the soon-to-be-open Ample Hills Creamery have come down!
This “re-imagined take on the turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor” will take over the spot that was previously occupied by the ESPN Club Arcade, next door to the very-much-still-open ESPN Club.
