Disney World has officially reopened, but things certainly aren’t back to normal.

We’re contending with all sorts of new health measures in the Disney World parks and concerns about the global health crisis are still very much a reality. In response to these concerns, Florida Orange County mayor Jerry Demings spoke about the reopening of Disney World in a press conference today.
Yesterday, Governor Newsom announced that 19 California counties needed to close reclose restaurants and movie theaters.Â

And while yesterday just the parking lots at beaches were expected to be closed in some parts of the state, we’ve just learned Orange County will be closing down many of its beaches entirely over the holiday weekend.

Just days after the delay of the reopening of Disneyland, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that 19 California counties, including Orange County (Disneyland’s location), will be impacted by an action that ceases all indoor operations for certain sectors.

This morning, Disney World proposed a reopening plan to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force.

In order to get the approval ball rolling on their anticipated July 11th reopening date, the parks were required to undergo an inspection by local health professionals. Disney proposed a soft opening of July 11 for Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and July 15 for Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The plans required the approval of the Orange County Task Force as well as the Orange County Mayor, followed by the Governor.
