Disney announced earlier today that Park Hopping will be coming back in 2021(!) with some modifications.
So, soon you’ll be able to ride Expedition Everest in the morning and then finish your day with a quick intergalactic trip to Batuu. What does that mean in terms of transportation though? How will you be able to get from one park to the other? Here’s what we know.
Park hopping looks a bit different than it did a few years ago.
And for those who haven’t visited the parks in quite some time, the system is a little confusing. We know you may have questions, so we’re here to answer them all!
Want to grab lunch at Animal Kingdom but dinner at EPCOT? When the Disney World theme parks reopened earlier this year, park hopping was suspended. Currently, you can only visit one park per day.
But, things are about to change! Disney just announced that Park Hopping will be returning on January 1st, 2021, with some modifications. Disney has also sent out an email to Annual Passholders about this update.
Even though Walt Disney World’s theme parks have been reopened since mid-July, one aspect of the parks has been missing: park hopping.
During Disney World’s initial reopening phase, the Park Pass system was implemented, and guests could only visit one park per day. Starting January 1st, 2021 that will change.
Since the Disney World theme parks reopened earlier this year, we’ve seen quite a few changes.
Two of potentially the largest changes have been the suspension of park hopping and the introduction of the Park Pass Reservation system.
Now, as of this week, Park Passes are available into 2022…but the Park Hopping option is available to add onto tickets being purchased for 2021. What’s up with that?! Can the two systems exist together? What’s going on?

Disney has just released a BUNCH of details regarding the new required theme park reservation system for guests visiting Walt Disney World when the Resort reopens, including its official NAME!
We now know it’s officially called the Disney Park Pass System — and it will be going live in just a few days! But while we’re relieved to finally know WHEN and HOW we’ll be able to book our Disney World theme park visits again (with more information coming soon!), we were bummed to learn that guests will only be allowed to visit one park per day upon the reopening of the theme parks, according to information which Disney has just released.
