Disney World closed for two days on September 28th and 29th, leaving many visitors with plans this weekend and next week feeling uncertain. Disney reopened on September 30th and resumed letting guests check into hotels as of 3PM, we’re taking a look at next week’s Park Pass Reservations, which are required for entering a Disney Park.

To get into the Disney parks you’ll need a valid ticket, but you’ll also need a Park Pass Reservation for the parks you want to visit. For now, it seems like park pass reservations could be sticking around for a while, so they’re something you’ll have to account for (love the system or not). Disney has noted that they have been seeing demand in excess of the available park passes, and we have noticed certain days filling up, but right now might be a great time to grab those park pass reservations for the rest of the year if you haven’t already.

Sure, there’s still a lot to enjoy this year in Disney World — EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival, Halloween, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — but, it’s usually a good idea to start planning as early as you can when it comes to Disney World. The parks are still requiring guests to make a Park Pass Reservation in order to get into the parks (in addition to buying a ticket!), and these reservations CAN book completely up for popular dates. The Disney Dining Plan disappeared, Extra Magic Hours shifted into something new, and the free FastPass+ was replaced by Genie+, which you have to pay for. Another thing that switched up was how you plan your Disney World vacation — you now need both a theme park ticket AND a theme park reservation in order to get into the parks. This system doesn’t seem to be leaving any time soon, but it IS changing.
