Our October was an eventful one — especially in Magic Kingdom!
With. the spooky season in full swing and the holidays creeping up right behind, we’ve certainly had LOTS of updates to share with you over the past few weeks. So, let’s look at the five MOST IMPORTANT changes we’ve seen in Magic Kingdom this month!
A fan-favorite attraction in Magic Kingdom has been closed for far, far too long.
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover closed a few days prior to the parks’ closures in March and has yet to reopen. Since then, refurbishment end dates have been announced, extended, and rescinded. Now, there has been another extension.
FOURTH UPDATE: Despite testing on the moving ramp up to the loading platform, the PeopleMover refurbishment has been extended again, through April 30th.
THIRD UPDATE: We saw some Cast Members riding the PeopleMover as part of what we presume is its testing, but the PeopleMover Refurbishment has now been extended through April 3rd.
SECOND UPDATE: We saw some testing going on at the PeopleMover in January, but the PeopleMover refurbishment has now been extended through February 28th.
UPDATE: The PeopleMover refurbishment has been extended through January 30th. So fingers crossed we see it open on the 31st!
Alright, we gotta know. What is going on with the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Disney World?!
This Magic Kingdom attraction (beloved by many, including us) has been closed since mid-March — BEFORE the park shut down due to the global health crisis. It was listed as reopening with Magic Kingdom in July, but now it remains closed and will remain closed for an indefinite amount of time. So what gives?
We’ve been hard at work scoping out all the news for you this week. Today we have the details on the latest in the Disney World theme parks and MORE!
See all of our coverage on Disney park reopenings HERE. We still have a LOT to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in… .
It looks like we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for our next ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
The PeopleMover has remained closed since the Magic Kingdom reopened in July. And while the Disney World refurbishment calendar initially indicated that this closure would last through October, the refurbishment length has since been extended.
Ever since the Disney World parks reopened, we’ve been unable to hop aboard one of our favorite chill attractions.
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has remained closed for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom for several months now, and we’re not set to see it open until late November. Now, it looks like the attraction is getting some work done behind the scenes!
Although we’ve loved running around to our favorite rides and restaurants in the parks, we totally miss relaxing on the PeopleMover (which happens to be one of the best ways to beat the heat, in our opinion!).
As one of Magic Kingdom’s oldest and most popular attractions, PeopleMover takes guests on a ride around Tomorrowland to look inside the attractions and other parts of the park. However, since Disney World closed back in March, we haven’t seen the attraction open again in Tomorrowland (even during the re-opening back in July).
It looks like guests will have to wait at least a few more months for their next ride around Tomorrowland on the PeopleMover.
When Magic Kingdom reopened to guests in July, we noticed that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was not running. While there were signs outside of the attraction informing guests of the temporary closure, Disney did not announce an expected reopening timeframe.
While we’ve already ranked the lands at Magic Kingdom by their snacks (just for kicks), we thought it would be an equally entertaining (and slightly torturous) undertaking to figure out which Disney rides are the BEST!
Admittedly, we ADORE Disney World’s attractions almost as much as its FOOD! It’s almost impossible for us to choose only a few favorites! But alas, if we were all in a burning house and we could only save five of ’em from the fire, here are the Magic Kingdom attractions we’d choose — and which ones we’d sacrifice to the flames!
