Ah Tonga Toast, how we love thee. This delicious, cinnamon-sugar-covered, banana-filled, deep-fried breakfast item has been a longtime favorite of Disney fans and all of us here at DFB.

Raise your hand if you’re a big fan of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! This HEAVILY-themed (and discreetly concealed) bar has become VERY popular among Disney fans, and even more so since it reopened in July 2021.

After it reopened, it even had a virtual queue for a while. However, now if you want to get in, you’ll need to head to Trader Sam’s to put your name on the walk-up waitlist. You’ll get a text when you can get in — IF you can get in, that is. So where do you go if you can’t get in but still want a similar experience? October 19th was the debut of the Disney Genie service in Disney World and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind while we figure out all the bells and whistles of this new service. There was also some unexpected news and experiences around Disney World this week, so let’s get into it!
Happy 50th Anniversary Disney World! The big 18-month long celebration has just begun and there’s a TON of new merch showing up everywhere in Disney World.

Even though you may just think about the 50th Anniversary of Magic Kingdom park, there are two opening-day resorts that deserve some love as well — Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We already spotted a new anniversary collection of merchandise at the Contemporary, and now it’s the Polynesian Resort’s turn!

Located over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, this interactive bar has a lively atmosphere and fun tiki drinks. Many of those tiki drinks come in amazing mugs, and Trader Sam’s releases new mugs occasionally for people to add to their collections! Yesterday, we told you about a new tiki mug that was set to be released, and today, we have a look at the actual tiki mug AND we tasted the drinks that come with it!
No matter how much you plan, sometimes there can be hiccups during your Disney World trip.

There is so much going on right now for the celebration, like new food, a new ride, a new character cavalcade, and new merch. While we’ve been focusing a lot on what’s happening inside the theme parks, we’re also checking out the festivities at the Disney hotels. And, we found one of our FAVORITE things at an opening-day resort!
Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is less than two weeks away and Disney is gearing up for the big day (recently, 100 new pieces of anniversary merch dropped on the same day!).

We’re back at ‘Ohana again for the second time this summer (not that we’re complaining)! ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort updated their menu recently to bring back a few old favorites that we know and love.
