Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
And, we’ve got plenty of merchandise, food, entertainment, and construction to share with you, so let’s dive right on in!
We love catching a glimpse of the construction going on at EPCOT’s France pavilion from our eyes in the sky — Disney Skyliner!
But today we couldn’t believe how much progress they’ve made! Before you proceed, click here to see what the France pavilion looked like back in February of this year so you can compare!
Spoiler alert! You’re about to see scenes and uncover hidden facts of a Disney Parks gem.
It’s safe to say that here at DFB, we’re all pretty excited about the upcoming EPCOT attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Remy’s originated in Disneyland Paris, but is being recreated as a brand-new-to-Disney-World trackless ride attraction in the EPCOT France pavilion! It was supposed to arrive in Summer 2020 — so…right about now! ;-D But due to the park closures, there have been some delays.
Construction seems to be moving along despite the setbacks, and we’ve been able to enjoy some nifty behind-the-scenes-images. Oh, and the ride vehicles are SO cute!
We are really, really excited about the upcoming Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride.
We like to check in on the France Pavilion a LOT to see what kind of work is being done to get this new attraction ready for opening. Recently, we flew over in the Skyliner and snapped some exciting pics! The France Pavilion expansion looks GOOD, y’all!
Even WITHOUT the historic four month-long closures, Disney World has had their hands full with upcoming construction projects. With Disney World’s 50th Anniversary coming up in 2021 and EPCOT going through a massive transformation ahead of its 40th Anniversary in in 2022, several ambitious new attractions are in the works!
Let’s take a few moments to catch up on everything we know so far about these projects, including when we think each one should be completed!
The “opening summer 2020” might have come down recently, but one thing’s for sure — while future plans for Spaceship Earth’s refurbishment and the new Mary Poppins attraction have been put on hold, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be opening someday — hopefully soon!
In fact, we’ve watched the exterior for brand new attraction take shape at the World Showcase’s France pavilion from the aerial vantage point of Disney’s Skyliner for some time, but now we’ve found a special way to see what’s INSIDE!
We’ve been checking out all the sights at EPCOT this week and there is so much to take in! Not only is it amazing to try in all amazing food and beverage at the 2020 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, but it’s also just so good to take a leisurely stroll around the park to see what’s new after the park’s extended closure.
And, during our time in World Showcase, we noticed something unusual. In fact, SOMETHING IS MISSING IN FRANCE!
All Disney World construction projects stopped shorty after the parks closed on March 16th — which seems like such a long time ago!
But now that many of Disney’s resort hotels reopened on June 22nd, and the Disney World parks have opening dates — Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11th followed by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15th — we’ve seen work on several job sites resume!
A lot is changing in and around Disney World right now as some stores and restaurants have recently reopened in Disney Springs and Disney World’s official reopening date has been announced.
But that’s not all that’s been happening lately. As many of you know, last week Disney World said they would be reopening with a brand new reservation system which meant they needed pause ticket sales and hotel reservations temporarily.
