We’re starting out strong with the grand opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run and Roundup Rodeo BBQ this spring, and then we’ve got the completion of the EPCOT transformation before the end of the year. There’s plenty to look forward to — and now we’re adding a NEW event to that list!

They’re actually a lot of fun and we’ve enjoyed playing with them in the parks — the Star Wars bounty hunter game is a blast and we love the lights and haptic feedback we’ve seen on rides, during nighttime shows, and more. Yes, these new MagicBand+ designs are a little pricier than the classic MagicBand, but did you know you may qualify to get one at a discount?
Today has already been pretty overwhelming as we welcome the arrival of the new Disney Genie system in Disney World!

There’s the free Genie tip board in the My Disney Experience app, with suggestions for helping you plan out your day. If you want to really maximize your schedule, you can purchase the Disney Genie+ add-on to skip the standby lines for attractions and use the new Lightning Lanes. But if you want to use Lightning Lanes on some of Disney World’s most popular rides, you’ll need to purchase access individually — and Disney Resort guests get an advantage!
We’re noticing a TON of new things in Disney World today for the 50th Anniversary!

There is new merchandise, over a hundred new snacks, and even new entertainment offerings. But before we’d even left our hotel room this morning, we spotted something new on the TV!
MagicBands are a park essential for many Disney World guests!
Aladdin Stitch MagicBand
Although MagicBands are not longer complementary as of this year and your phone can act as your MagicBand, many guests still choose to sport their favorite characters, rides, or resorts on their wrists. If you’re a fan of Disney World resort MagicBands, we’ve got a new one for you to check out!
One huge perk has been missing for guests staying at Disney World resorts.
Swan and Dolphin
That perk is Extra Magic Hours, which allows Disney World resort guests to get extra time in the parks, both in the mornings and evenings. However, Disney recently announced that a NEWÂ offering will replace Extra Magic Hours. This would allow select resort guests to get early theme park entry, while others can get extended evening hours. We’ve already seen a list of which hotels qualify for early entry and which hotels qualify for extended hours, but we now have two more hotels to add to that list.
If you’re headed to Disney World soon, you probably have your eye on some Advance Dining Reservations at some really fun restaurants.

It comes as no surprise, but dining is one of our favorite parts of a trip to Disney World (did our name give it away?). There are certainly some reservations that tend to be more difficult to get than others any day you try, but, right now, it seems like dining reservations are harder to get in general. Whether you’re trying to book Oga’s Cantina, Be Our Guest Restaurant, or even some of the less popular spots, why is it harder than ever to get a reservation for Disney World restaurants?

Although offsite hotels are expanding their list of perks, too, there are a few benefits you’ll only get from staying at a Disney resort. One of those is Early Theme Park Entry! And there’s another big one that you may not even know about….but it could save you a LOT of money.

When you’re headed to The Most Magical Place on Earth, you might be trying to decide whether to sat onsite or offsite. Well, this year, the on-property hotels have definitely had WAY fewer perks than they have in the past. BUT…there’s a NEW perk coming soon. Or at least…there’s supposed to be one coming soon. Umm…did Disney totally forget about this perk they announced?Â

They became a little less common with MagicBands, but now that complimentary MagicBands are no longer available, more guests might be using these cards once more. Now, they have a new look too!
