Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting a new Disney Vacation Club tower, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is getting some serious updates, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is getting The Cake Bake Shop restaurant. But that’s not all that’s coming to the BoardWalk — and we’re here to report on another change!
Is it just us or is January the longest month of the year? Okay, so we probably feel like that because so much has happened in Disney World this month.

In food news, we’re still trying to figure out all the ins and outs of the Disney Dining Plan now that it’s returned. We’re also on the lookout for all the upcoming Valentine’s Day treats. Plus it’s only the second week of the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. But Disney World restaurants are continuing to change, so let’s take a look at what those changes were for the past week.

This is true whether you’re on vacation at a theme park like Disney World (quick reminder that the Disney Dining Plan payment option is back, baby!) or just looking to have a date night with your sweetheart (another friendly reminder, Valentine’s Day is around the corner). So a LOT happened, a lot of things changed (goodbye, park pass reservations, welcome back, Disney Dining Plan and all-day park hopping). As far as food goes, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts opened and we ate just about EVERYTHING. But we still had to keep an eye on Disney World restaurant menus, too, so let’s see how they have changed this week.

We’re visiting the parks without park pass reservations (well, those of us with date-based tickets, anyway). We’re park hopping when we feel like it. AND we’re using the Disney Dining Plan, which has finally returned after FOUR LONG YEARS OF DESOLATE OUT OF POCKET PAYMENTS.
But we used the brand NEW Disney Dining Plan in the parks on debut day, and we learned a LOT. So we’re going to fill you in on some of those weird brand new Disney Dining Plan rules that are a little bit different from what you may be expecting…as well as some of the old rules that you might not remember!
Well, the day has finally come! The Disney Dining Plan has returned to Disney World!

With this plan, you can basically pre-pay for ALL your meals so that when you get to Disney World, all you have to worry about is where to eat. But if you’ve used the dining plan BEFORE 2020, you might not know that it’s a bit different now than it was then. We’re using the Disney Dining Plan RIGHT NOW and we’re going to give you all the DETAILS on how it has changed in 2024.

The biggest change, though, is probably the return of the Disney Dining Plan (and we’ll be testing it when it comes back on January 9th). But we’ve also got some new restaurants opening this year, including Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers on Disney’s Boardwalk. Right now, though, we’ve got some menu changes to tell you about at Disney World restaurants.
