Disney Genie+ JUST debuted in Disney World, and we have so many tips to share with you!

With Genie+, the free Disney Genie system, and Individual Attraction Selection, there’s a lot to learn these days and that can be a hefty task. Is it worth it to navigate the complicated waters of the new tech? Well, today we challenged ourselves to see how many rides we could do in one day using Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection (pay-per-ride)Â to find the answer to that question!

Disney Genie launched in Disney World back in October of 2021, and it has definitely brought some big changes to the parks!

The service, which is offered through the My Disney Experience app, helps guests plan their days at Disney World in a way that hasn’t been possible through the app before. It also offers a paid service that has replaced the former free FastPass+ system — Disney Genie+. We’re here to tell you exactly how to purchase Genie+ from your phone in the easiest way possible!
It may still be spooky season, but Disney World is already gearing up for the holidays!
Living with the Land Holiday Decor
There’s going to be a LOT of holiday stuff going on this year with select entertainment and holiday events returning. EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays will bring us a lot of fun and delicious foods, the Candlelight Processional will return with celebrity narrators, and there’s a brand new holiday after party happening at Magic Kingdom! But, that’s not all.
By now you may have heard of the Disney Genie program, which is a new service in the My Disney Experience app for Disney World that helps guests plan their trip with free personalized itineraries.

There are two paid service options with Disney Genie — the first is Genie+, which is $15 per ticket, per day and will allow you to make reservations to skip the line of rides, similar to how you previously did with FastPass+. The other paid service is Individual Attraction Selection, or the pay-per-ride service, which will allow guests to skip the line of high-demand rides NOT included with Genie+ by paying for them individually. And now, Disney has officially announced what each ride will cost! Disney Genie launched in Disney World back in October of 2021, and there have been some major changes since then! This new program run through My Disney Experience includes multiple paid service options for guests who would prefer to pay to essentially skip the lines of their favorite rides.
Cinderella Castle
Disney Genie+ cost starts at $15 per ticket, per day in Disney World and it gives guests the ability to make reservations to use the Lightning Lanes (what used to be called the FastPass+ lane) for over 50 different attractions. Not all rides are included in the Disney Genie+ service, though — some high-demand rides are a part of a separate paid option called Individual Attraction Selection. And, we have a full list of all the rides included in this option!
It’s not even the 50th Anniversary yet, but we’ve had SO much news coming out of Disney World this week!

We got an opening date for the Star Wars Hotel. We got a first look at the new Grand Floridian Vacation Club Rooms. We even learned about some new high-tech MagicBands that are coming soon. And we got an opening timeline of 2022 for EPCOT’s next attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, along with some new details! Well, the news just keeps on coming, and we’ve got a first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride vehicles.
Disney World is certainly a magical place, but it’s not perfect. Sometimes things happen.
Splash Mountain
We’ve seen Mobile Order go down, animatronics with missing hands, animatronics just missing, animatronics with weird faces, and more. We’ve also seen rides go down quite a bit, too, including the PeopleMover, and Splash Mountain, both at Magic Kingdom.
Here at DFB, we’re pretty frequent Disney-goers, so we usually notice when things are missing from the parks.
Something (or should we say someone) was missing from Tomorrowland today!
Whether it be an animatronic, a piece of a ride, or a sign that’s out of place, we tend to know when things aren’t right in the parks. But today, something big was missing from a Magic Kingdom ride, and it was pretty obvious!
Today marks the first day that guests did not need to obtain a boarding pass to ride Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And as a result, we saw some crowds and some pretty hefty wait times for the attraction that is currently only using a standby-only line. But there will soon be a few ways to beat the line!Â
October 1st is a little over a week away, and we’re doing our best to prepare for the big day!
It’s going to be a big day in Disney World!
