It seems like there’s always some sort of construction going on at Disney World, especially now, as lots of new attractions and refurbishments are being prepared for the park’s 50th anniversary next year.

We’ve been following along with all the upcoming projects because we’re so excited to see them getting closer and closer to being completed! There’s definitely a lot to keep track of, so here’s ALL the construction going on in Disney World this week!

Drained Rivers of America
It takes a lot of effort to make the theme parks look fresh and new! The scheduled refurbishments can sometimes put a snag in your plans, however. We’re here to update you on all the scheduled weekly refurbs between December 6th through December 13, 2020. This way, you can plan around the closures on your trip!

With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, we stopped into Magic Kingdom to see what’s new since our last visit. Here are all of the latest food, construction, and merchandise updates from the park!

December draws in holiday crowds who flock to the theme parks for a chance to see the Christmas decorations and new entertainment. Disney World has planned a few scheduled refurbishments during the first week of December and beyond. In case you missed it, the two attractions on Rivers of America, the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, are both down for lengthy refurbishments. As a result, we’ve been slowly seeing the water from Rivers of America get drained.

Rivers of America Before the Water was Drained
If you’re headed to the Haunted Mansion today in honor of the spooky holiday, you might notice something a little strange along the way. We recently noticed that the water level of the Rivers of America was lower than normal — but now, it’s completely drained!
We’re strolling through Magic Kingdom, and checking out some guest costumes while we’re at it!
