DFB Video: The NEW Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Happy Monday! We’re back in Walt Disney World today, bringing you another tasty DFB Video. This time, we’re checking out all that’s awesome about the newly refurbished Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
Roaring Fork has been a longtime favorite for guests staying at Wilderness Lodge — or even folks who stay elsewhere and trek over to take advantage of the counter service spot’s specialties.
Unfortunately, favorites like Mickey Waffles with Specialty Toppings are no longer available. Still, we found plenty to love on the menu reboot, both for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. [Read more…]
First Look and Review! The New Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
It’s good to see you again, Roaring Fork!
Roaring Fork is the primary Counter Service restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Over the past several months, the entire resort has been undergoing several refurbishments, and these changes have certainly included some of the dining options at the Lodge.
For instance, this past February brought the addition of Geyser Point Bar & Grill — a hybrid outdoor lounge and Counter Service location. The opening of Geyser Point coincided with the temporary closure of Roaring Fork for a renovation of its own.
And even though Geyser Point has been a terrific addition to Wilderness Lodge, we have missed Roaring Fork. As home to everything from Specialty Waffles in the morning to some of our favorite cupcakes anywhere — all served up in the Lodge’s uniquely beautiful rustic setting — Roaring Fork has long held a special place in our hearts. And we know we’re not the only ones who feel that way.
So, I’m sure some of you are as anxious as I am to see what’s new and what’s remained the same (did the Waffles make the cut?!?) at Roaring Fork. Let’s not waste any more time checking it out!
Atmosphere
Before the refurbishment, there were a few words you could always use to describe Roaring Fork. Among them were “rustic” and even “cozy.” [Read more…]

In fact, it looks like Monday, February 13th, may be the date set for the opening of Geyser Point Bar & Grill, a pool bar that will blend in with the Pacific Northwest feel of the Resort. (And, yes, this location was originally slated to open in the summer, sooo… SURPRISE!! ;-D). [Read more…]

News: Geyser Point Bar & Grill Opening Summer 2017 at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Editor’s Note: Geyser Point Bar and Grill will be opening in February 2017.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to some of our favorite dining spots including the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Roaring Fork. And next summer it will be home to a new table service restaurant – Geyser Point Bar & Grill. A new quick service restaurant is planned as well.
The new table service eatery is part of the on-going expansion at Wilderness Lodge, which also includes the addition of waterside cabins, a new pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (formerly The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), and the addition of more DVC units in the main lodge.

Review: Cocktails, Cupcakes, and Seasonal Specialties at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Today we’re trying out a couple of drinks and a seasonal cupcake at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
When we’re imbibing at this beautiful resort, we’re usually paying a visit to one of our favorite bars in Disney World, Territory Lounge. Today, though, we’re stepping outside to enjoy some drinks at Trout Pass Pool Bar. Even if you aren’t going for a dip in Silver Creek Springs Pool, you can still stop by Trout Pass if you’re checking out Fire Rock Geyser or just exploring the grounds.
At Trout Pass, you’ll certainly find plenty of the pool bar drinks that are standards on the Disney Pool Bar Menu, like the Captain’s Mai Tai, the Banana Cabana, and the Pina CoLAVA. But, Trout Pass has also started following the fun trend at spots like the Polynesian Village Resort’s Barefoot Pool Bar, Pop Century’s Petals Pool Bar, and Muddy Rivers at Port Orleans Riverside, where specialty drinks themed to the Resort are available at the pool bars as well. This used to be the norm at the pool bars, but then things got all homogenous. I’m glad to see they’re coming back!
Only at Trout Pass, things work a bit differently.
Daily Drinks
The specialty offerings rotate as part of the Daily Drink Specials, featuring a different specialty cocktail for each day of the week. You’ll find a nice variety of both iced and frozen drinks for a warm Florida day by the pool! The Northwest theme of the resort is echoed in the names of the beverages like the Lumberjack, Ponderosa Pine, and Silver Creek Peach. [Read more…]
