We sure hope so! Destination D23, one of Disney’s largest fan events, is currently happening and we’re learning a lot about the future of Disney. Earlier this year, Disney released a preview of their new walking robot Baby Groot. This bot is extremely realistic and honestly kinda hard to believe, but robo-Groot is just the start. Let’s look at some MORE details about the little guy and a much BIGGER innovation hitting the scene…

Today Disney released a video featuring behind the scenes looks at some of the incredible projects Imagineers have done (and are still working on!), so if you want to know more about some of your favorite rides, read on!
One thing you might notice about Disney World is that there are a LOT of robots.

When you’re on the rides you’ll see animatronics galore and robots have even been known to roam the park. Remember Push the Talking Trash Can? The company is regularly making strides in robotics technologies and now they’ve come up with a new invention!

Earlier this year, we got to participate in a private media event from Disney where we saw a brief (and we mean VERY BRIEF) clip of Imagineers looking at what appeared to be a WALKING robot Baby Groot! We seriously did a double take.
Because it was a private event, we were prompted not to take photos. And without photos or videos of this unique creation, it kind-of made it all feel like maybe the whole thing was just part of a crazy Guardians of the Galaxy dream. BUT NO! It is real and now we’ve got photos and a video to prove it!!

Not only did we hear when Avengers Campus is going to open, but we also got to see a REAL LIGHTSABER. Still, real-life energy sabers aren’t the ONLY exciting things that Disney surprised us with yesterday — Disney also showed a whole new kind of robot that we could see in the parks or elsewhere.
