Disney’s Aulani Resort is a tropical getaway in Hawaii that many Disney lovers have on their bucket lists. We make sure to keep you updated on all the deals we see for the resort, and whenever one of our team members takes a vacation to the resort, they report back to us with all the exciting news. You have probably seen the epic Mickey shaved ice that you can get at the resort. So, we thought we’s share a look at those with you!
We’ve all been there: It’s a screaming hot day at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, and our schedule for the day doesn’t get us out of the sun’s persistent rays for long stretches of time. We’re having a blast (of course!), but we’re about to melt. Enter: Shave Ice!
Animal Kingdom Shave Ice
This sweet and icy treat has been a seasonal part of the Animal Kingdom food scene for a couple of years, and it can now be found in the area of Harambe Market (not to be mistaken for Harambe Fruit Market closer to Kilimanjaro Safari). Last summer, you could find Shave Ice at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Harambe Fruit Market. Now it has made a return… just a little ways around the bend!

This cute little kiosk at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort takes a keen eye to find, but it’s worth the tiny trek.
The Summer of Heroes at Disney California Adventure is ON!!! The celebration began on May 27th when the Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT attraction opened its doors — and its drops! — to guests for the very first time. And the party keeps going until September 10th. That means there’s plenty of time to try the specialty Summer of Heroes snacks and sips!

Thank gooooodness Heather Sievers, our @DiningInDisney bestie, is on the scene to scope it all out for us (because there is a LOT to take in)! Can we get a Groot-hoo?!
This week, we got our first look at the 2013 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! 
Once again, the party is brimming with unique treats!
From candy corn soft serve to cupcakes galore (YUM!), we recommend snacking your way through the party. Don’t forget about the complimentary trick-or-treat candy!

First up: “Bowl of gumbo ($9) from Cafe Orleans! Delicious! The bowl is a much better deal than the cup ($6). The gumbo is rich, with lots of chunky chicken and sausage. The restaurant serves it with a big serving of dirty rice on top of the soup.”
