Disney’s NEW ‘Little Mermaid’ Show Takes BIG Step Forward

Once upon a time, there was a show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios called “Voyage of the Little Mermaid.”

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The show was a retelling of the animated The Little Mermaid movie with live actors singing some of the most iconic songs from that film. However, the show has been closed since 2020. “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” is a reimagining of the previous show, bringing a live-action re-telling — in a new way — back to Hollywood Studios. The show was originally supposed to debut in fall 2024, but Disney pushed its opening back to summer 2025. Now, though, we are finally seeing something happening with the new show!

We Know What Every Disney World Fan Is Doing on December 1st

Yes, we’ve been celebrating the holiday season since November 1st, but now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, we’re ready to put our hearts and souls into the celebration.

It’s that time of year!

That means eating even MORE holiday snacks in Disney World (obviously), as well as continuing to enjoy the holiday decorations, gingerbread displays, and more! Then there are TWO holiday parties: Jollywood Nights and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. However, we’ve got big plans to stay at home on December 1st because something EPIC is happening on our TVs on that date: the Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular.

Okay, so if you’re planning a Disney World trip in 2025, well, you’ve got a LOT to look forward to, and that includes a lot of NEW things.

Magic Kingdom

If you haven’t been to Disney World in the past year or so, you’ve got some new restaurants to check out (like The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs). Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom is still also pretty new. We’ve seen new shops open up in Disney Springs recently, as well. However, a LOT of NEW things will be opening for the FIRST TIME EVER in Disney World in 2025.

You might also know about Inside Out 2, which recently came to the streaming platform. Maybe you’re just busy watching classic Disney movies on the service or your kids are watching Bluey. Something SPECIAL Happened in Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Last Night!

Disney often works with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes for seriously ill children.

Disney has released special Make-A-Wish merchandise in the past, often hosts children and their families in its parks, and often brings awareness to the organization. Over the years, the foundation has helped grant the wishes of over 300,000 children, with many of those wishes involving the Walt Disney Company in some way. Over the past weeks, Disneyland has hosted 19 children and their families for its first multi-day Make-A-Wish event “Blaze Your Path: A Star Wars Adventure.” Last night, on September 11th, Disney hosted a special finale for that event.

NEWS: Disney’s NEW ‘Coco’-Themed Show Is Debuting This Month!

If you’ve never visited Disneyland in the fall, you might just be missing out.

Not only do BOTH Disneyland and Disney California Adventure get decked out for fall and Halloween, but Oogie Boogie Bash is THE Halloween party you want to attend. Not to mention, Disneyland also celebrates Día de Los Muertos with Plaza de la Familia, which celebrates the everlasting bond of family with a Coco theme. This year, though, Plaza de la Familia will feature a new show!

NEWS: Disney Reveals Entertainment Onboard The Disney Destiny

Disney Cruise Line has been revealing some BIG news about its newest ship, the Disney Destiny.

Look at all the patches!

The new ship will be sailing to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean during its inaugural season, which starts in November 2025. The ship will have a heroes and villains theme and will have a lot of Marvel spaces, including a Grand Hall inspired by Black Panther. However, there will be a lot of things to see and do on the ship, too, and now Disney has revealed all the entertainment you’ll find onboard the Disney Destiny.

ALERT! 2 Shows Have RETURNED to Magic Kingdom

We would argue that Disney World’s live entertainment is some of the best in the world.

Cinderella Castle

There are several outdoor shows put on by characters and Cast Members in each of the parks. Street performers, parades, cavalcades, and other shows pop up throughout the day and bring us lots of joy. Occasionally, Disney will cancel or temporarily remove some of this entertainment for varying reasons. Recently, two shows were suspended for a couple of weeks, but we’re happy to report that they have officially returned back to Magic Kingdom!

CONFIRMED: These Attractions Are Missing From the New Lightning Lane System in Disney World

We don’t know about you, but we are struggling to keep up with all the changes happening in Disney World right now. Sure, the EPCOT transformation is finally complete, but there are still so many more changes in store.

New Lightning Lane changes are coming

Magic Kingdom will be getting a huge expansion. In EPCOT, Test Track is closed so it can be reimagined. In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, DinoLand, U.S.A. is going to get a re-theme. Then Disney went and announced that it’s also completely changing Genie+. We’ve been doing our best to answer all your burning questions about the NEW system replacing Genie+, and now we want to talk about attractions that are NOT a part of it.
