It’s high temps and good times in Walt Disney World this summer season! We’re spotting plenty of frosty summer sips to help you beat the heat, along with all sorts of new restaurants to stop in and take an air-conditioned breather.
And if we’re talking about new restaurants, there’s only one place to start this round of What’s New, and that’s…
I know — it’s as though the openings are never-ending at Disney Springs! The Grand Opening Summer Celebration is ON for this dining, shopping, and entertainment district!
Can you believe it? What once seemed like a never-ending transformation of what was once Downtown Disney to Disney Springs is now complete (though we still have a few more spots to welcome in the coming months!). [Read more…]

If you’ve been keeping up on all the latest food news in Walt Disney World with us here at the DFB, then you know that the latter half of May brought all kinds of additions to the Disney dining scene!
And the arrival of the summer season also brings expanded food options to feed the increasing crowds at the parks and beyond, so our tour will include all sorts of updates, changes, and additions – both big and small – as we check out What’s New around Walt Disney World! [Read more…]
Happy Sunday! We hope you’re having a great week! Grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and get ready to check out the latest Disney food news.
It was an exciting week for foodies at Walt Disney World as we celebrated the opening of several new restaurants and kiosks in Disney Springs including D-Luxe Burger, Sprinkles, YeSake, and the Daily Poutine. We did a lot of eating this week and it was so worth it!
Also, have you seen the new sweepstakes from Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea? You can win a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort as part of the 2nd Annual Magic in Your Mug Sweepstakes!
We have a lot to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in…
IS HERE!!!
Seeing as we’re HUGE cupcake fans here at the DFB, this latest Disney Springs opening is a definite cause for celebration! And if you love cupcakes as much as we do, then this is great news for you, too, since Sprinkles was designated the “world’s first cupcake bakery” by the Food Network (the first location opened in Beverly Hills in 2005).
Of course, maybe you’ve already paid a visit to Sprinkles, which has locations in Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Nashville, among others. (Even though I prefer my beloved Magnolia cupcakes in the Village, I, myself, am intimately familiar with Sprinkles’ order-ahead policy and the employees at my local Sprinkles Cupcakes store pretty much know me by name.)
You may have tried one of the signature cupcakes, a house-made cookie, or some slow-churned ice cream (some locations carry all three, though some offer solely cupcakes). Maybe you’ve even zipped by one and grabbed a cupcake from one of the famous Cupcake ATMs.
But you’ve never been able to have one at Disney World… until NOW!
Join us in welcoming Sprinkles to Disney Springs! [Read more…]

Are you ready for another trip around the World? We’ve got lots of new eats, treats, and Gaston-themed Feasts coming at you for this round of What’s New (along with a peek at a lot — and I mean A LOT — of stuff to come!).
We’re kicking off our latest jaunt at the most Magical of All Kingdoms…
A recent visit to the Magic Kingdom revealed changes and additions — both big and small — to Counter Service spots all over the park.
But the one that might just take the cake (CUPcake, that is!) is the new Donald Duck Vanilla Cupcake at the Main Street Bakery! [Read more…]
Happy Sunday and happy May!! We hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! What an exciting week of Disney food news!
We have so much to talk about including the news that kicked off the week – Free Dining is back this Fall at the Walt Disney World Resort!
The free dining offer is good on select dates from August 23 through December 21. Guests at Value Resorts will receive the Quick Service Dining Plan while guests at Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villas will receive the standard Dining plan.
We have a lot to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in…
Disney Springs is going to be THE place to be on May 15th! That’s the day the Town Center — the final neighborhood of Disney World’s still-transitioning dining and entertainment district — will officially open to guests, along with Amorette’s Patisserie, B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co., and The Daily Poutine.
And if that weren’t enough, we’ve got one more to add to the list… Sprinkles Cupcakes is set to open on May 15th, too!
That’s right! The bakery made famous as the “world’s first cupcake bakery” (according to the Food Network), will be serving up hand-crafted cupcake goodies to Town Center guests, along with slow-churned ice cream and homemade cookies. [Read more…]
A few weeks ago, we shared our excitement about Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream, opening up today on Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street.
Well, it’s time to hop on the Red Trolley and take a ride to check it out. Be sure to notice the fun ad for Clarabelle’s while you’re in the trolley. See you there!
From the moment I heard about Clarabelle’s, I was really looking forward to checking it out. It has a fabulous little back story.
In the early 1920’s, it’s said that a young Walt Disney often visited an ice cream shop run by “Clarabelle Cowherd.” The bovine-obsessed Clarabelle ran her ice cream shop using farm fresh dairy products, and used old fashioned churns to make her flavorful hand scooped ice creams.
It’s said that she was the inspiration for Disney’s humorous Clarabelle Cow character. And I love that Clarabelle’s story is a part of the decor of this new ice cream stop on Buena Vista Street!
Located smack in between the new Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical Cafe and Trolley Treats, Clarabelle’s is a walk-up counter service spot to get some traditional Disneyland Resort goodies as well as something totally new to the parks’ menus: The Hand Dipped Ice Cream Bar.
Clarabelle’s is tiny. With just three registers to place an order, I think on a hot day this cow-crazy cone shop is going to be an E-Ticket attraction sized line.
Don’t let it’s size fool you, though, because imagineers were able to pack some very snazzy decor into a [Read more…]
