A Part of the Permanently CLOSED Star Wars Hotel Is Hiding at Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World

In September 2023, Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser closed its doors for good, just 19 months after it first opened.

The Star Wars hotel and experience was certainly something different for Disney as it combined elements of roleplaying with Star Wars storytelling and a hotel stay. There were planned outings to Batuu, lightsaber training sessions, and even training sessions on the bridge learning to fly a starcruiser. However, the pricey venture didn’t quite work out for Disney in the end, and it closed. But a remnant of that experience is still hanging around Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

It was a very ambitious project for Disney, and it helped create a lot of memories for those who got to have this experience while it was open. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland

We’re in Disneyland celebrating the Season of the Force, which is a huge Star Wars celebration happening from now through June 2nd. This celebration brings a fun Star Wars overlay to Space Mountain called Hyperspace Mountain, as well as new merchandise, PhotoPass Magic Shots, a Jabba the Hutt popcorn bucket, and more! Of course, we’re most excited about the new Star Wars snacks, and we’ve been running all over Disneyland to try them out.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was only open for a little over a year before Disney decided to shutter it.

However, we’re still seeing signs that the Star Wars hotel has not been forgotten. We spotted a tribute to the hotel in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios. Now, something ELSE from the hotel is making its way to a Disney park — this time, we’re going to Disneyland Resort.
