Disney just revealed some HUGE updates during its earnings call for the second quarter of 2024.

The call, which was held on May 7th, revealed a lot of details about the financial state of The Walt Disney Company, including how the company’s streaming business is doing, how the parks are doing, and more. The company also revealed some plans it has for the future, but don’t worry if you missed it: we’re going to give you a rundown of everything right here.
Disney CEO Bob Iger returned to his job in 2022 and has since been busy working on several key priorities he has for the company before he departs again in 2026.

Although his job includes working with everything going on with the theme parks and Disney movies, he stated then that his number one priority was making Disney’s streaming profitable. On May 7th, the Walt Disney Company held its second quarter 2024 financial earnings call and we learned more about how streaming is working out for the company.

Of course, we also have to mention that Wish, Disney’s most recent animated movie, is out now, too. We also bet that the new Bluey special STILL has you crying (because we were BAWLING). REJOICE, Bluey fans: The Australian phenomenon just released the longest episode in its history.Â

Bluey first premiered on Australia’s ABC – the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, not the American television network currently owned by Disney – Kids network in 2018. The series follows Bluey (an anthropomorphic Blue Heeler puppy) and her family in Brisbane, Australia. The series has become an international hit thanks to its heart, imaginative sequences, and comedy that’s funny to both children and adults. In June of 2019, Disney acquired the international distribution rights to the series, and began streaming it on Disney+ in all territories excluding Australia, New Zealand and China, but including the U.S.
Disney’s streaming services have undergone some HUGE changes recently.

For example, you can now stream Hulu on Disney+. Disney has also started warning customers about sharing passwords, promising it had plans to crack down on account sharing soon. Language about account sharing has also appeared in the terms of service for both Disney+ and Hulu. Well, now we know when Disney will start officially canceling accounts it thinks are being shared.

This week, a HUGE thing happened with two of Disney’s streaming services.

For those who have a bundled Disney+ and Hulu subscription, Hulu became MERGED with Disney+ — as in you can watch all your Hulu shows straight from the Disney+ app. Although the feature had its beta launch last year, it became official this week and included a few new features. Well, Disney is celebrating Hulu on Disney+ in a big way, both in Disney Springs AND Downtown Disney — yep, on BOTH coasts.

Full access to Hulu on the Disney+ app is now a reality for Disney Bundle subscribers! Now, you can watch content from Hulu right on the Disney+ app. This now means you could see Peter Griffin from Family Guy displayed right next to Mickey and Minnie.
