We’re back! Are you surprised? We have unexpected news this week from Disney World.
If you visited Disney World this week you might have experienced technical issues, creepy fog, and even closed Monorail lines. Sound fun? Let’s go over everything!
If you’re planning on visiting Disney World soon, odds are you’ll use some form of technology while there.
Maybe you’ll use your phone to make Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection passes. Maybe you’ll use a mobile device to place a mobile order. Or maybe you’ll use your MagicBand (and the technology built into that) to scan yourself into the parks and pay for items during your stay. Well, today some of Disney’s various forms of technologies seem to be experiencing issues, and it’s a very good reminder of what you need to be prepared for in the future.
If you’ve been to Disney World recently, you probably used your phone a decent amount during your trip.
Specifically, you likely used the My Disney Experience app a lot to place your mobile orders, check wait times, make dining reservations, and more. But today, the My Disney Experience app experienced some technical issues!
Disney may be a massive company that makes the big bucks, but even they aren’t immune to unexpected issues!
Over the years, we’ve seen all kinds of random problems in the parks, from weather-related shutdowns to tech glitches to animatronic malfunctions. And today, a huge internet and app outage is causing some issues at Disneyland Resort!
UPDATE: The dining reservation system is now back up and working once again, and guests are now able to search for, make, and otherwise handle their Disney World dining reservations.
Between booking your hotel stay, tickets, dining reservations, and more, there’s a lot to keep track of when planning your Disney World vacation.
And, if you’re hoping to dine at any of the popular Table Service restaurants in the parks or resorts, you probably know how important it is to book your dining reservations early. But, today guests looking to book their dining reservations may have some difficulties.
Sometimes things go wrong in Disney World!
There are evacuations, kitchen fires, huge water leaks, and more, even in the Most Magical Place on Earth. And tonight, we saw that one of the Disney World icons had some technical issues!
Update: We checked on this later in the day and My Disney Experience showed that all of these attractions had reopened.
Disney World might be the most magical place on earth, but rides there can experience technical difficulties at times, causing them to temporarily close.
Sometimes these closures are only for a few minutes, but other times they can last for much longer. As we walked around Magic Kingdom today, we actually found that 3 rides are ALL temporarily closed right now due to technical difficulties.
We use the My Disney Experience app a LOT!
From placing mobile orders and making advance dining reservations to checking the latest wait times, it’s a fantastic tool! But, it seems like some guests are experiencing technical issues with the app today.
Walt Disney World — it’s the most magical place on earth, but that doesn’t mean technical difficulties don’t happen!
Sometimes technical issues cause Splash Mountain to go down, and other times Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has to close for a while due to some problems. Yesterday, it was Frozen Ever After’s turn as that is where one guest found a version of Anna that was a little…off (literally).
We’ve been making our way all around the Disney World theme parks this Thanksgiving week to see what new things we could spot and get a feel for the holiday crowds.
But, not everything always runs smoothly in Disney World. We’ve seen Disney experience some technical difficulties recently at Spaceship Earth in EPCOT as well with its dining reservation system. Today, it appears Disney is experiencing issues with some of its other systems.
