While hot temperatures are noting new for Central Florida – – in fact, the subtropical climate is one of the major reasons that Walt Disney zeroed in on the Orlando area during the initial planning stages of the “Florida Project” that would one day become Walt Disney World – – the next few days are offering temperatures that are extreme even by the area’s normal standards.
There’s a rumor that Disney World is covered by a giant dome that allows the company to control the weather.

While that would make running the park a WHOLE lot easier, it just isn’t true. Orlando is subject to all sorts of bad weather, from hurricanes and torrential downpours to brutal heat (which you may not be surprised by).
