It certainly seems like there’s always something changing in Disney World! Whether it’s new merchandise, construction, or new food items, there’s almost always something new to see or do.

One of our favorite changes is when there are new food items, or a restaurant gets an updated menu, because that means we get to try new food! Today, we’re heading to Plaza Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom to try a brand new sandwich!
We’ve had some pretty amazing things to eat in Disney World over the years.

Between meals at signature restaurants, snacks that knocked our socks off, and random food items that were shockingly delicious…we’ve got a well-curated list of favorites. One item that we really loved recently was the Monte Cristo at Magic Kingdom’s Plaza Restaurant, but now we may have to bid it farewell!

This month, to no one’s surprise, is chock-full of treats from the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Let’s revisit the menu items we would gladly try again and again, as well as those items we would rather not remember.

The Plaza Restaurant
One of the restaurants that got a LOT of love and attention from Disney World when it comes to special 50th Anniversary treats is The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. After all, what we know today as The Plaza Restaurant was an opening day dining spot at Disney World back in 1971, so it totally should get its own special recognition!

Some things have returned to “normal” (like the return of self-serve drink stations in some locations), an After Hours Halloween event has been announced for this year, and temperature checks are set to be phased out. When it comes to food, some things are changing there too! Recently, 3 Disney World restaurants debuted new/revamped menus and other spots have slightly modified offerings. So when we noticed a menu change at The Plaza Restaurant, we headed back there so we could do an ALL-NEW REVIEW to try the new items! And yes, we were literally JUST THERE last month, but new food means we need to try it out so we can let you know if it’s any good!

Magic Kingdom is undergoing a mini-transformation for Disney World’s 50th anniversary, from Cinderella Castle’s new look to other subtle changes around the park. And near Main Street, U.S.A., The Plaza Restaurant is getting some changes, too!
Walt Disney World is known for its magical sweet treats, from Dole Whip to cupcakes to Mickey Premium Bars.
