It’s been a long time coming. We’ve been monitoring the construction progress in Magic Kingdom for AGES as Splash Mountain slowly transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disney has shared all kinds of fun updates about the animatronics on the ride, teased a beignet-scented queue, and tested the big drop LIVE in Magic Kingdom. We also shared that the ride is opening in Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2024, but now the moment has arrived — we have the official, CONFIRMED opening DATE!

Wait. Did We Just Find a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride SPOILER Hiding on AMAZON?!

We’ve got a real treat coming soon to the Magic Kingdom. A new ride! That’s right — there’s a brand-new, never-before-seen ride coming to Disney World, and we can’t wait. It’s called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and it will open in both Disneyland park and Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 2024! In fact, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disney World in the summer of 2024, and “later in 2024” in Disneyland. Below, you can see the current construction progress. If that big hill looks familiar, that’s because this ride was formerly known as Splash Mountain!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Back in 2020, Disney announced that Splash Mountain would close and get a complete makeover. The new attraction is inspired by The Princess and the Frog. But this won’t be the same old Princess and the Frog story we’ve seen before. Nope — Disney is creating a NEW story for the ride! But wait. We may have found a NEW clue that might give us some hints about the attraction.

We’re keeping a close eye on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom as it prepares for a grand opening THIS SUMMER!

We can’t wait to sail with Tiana through the bayou and check out all the fun critters and new details on the ride. But until then, we’re watching the construction progress closely to see if there are any changes! And if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom this week, you’ll notice that some construction walls came DOWN.

We Found a New CLUE that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Is Opening SOON in Disneyland

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming to BOTH Disney World and Disneyland Resort! Get ready to go on down the bayou with Tiana and Louis in a newly reimagined version of the old Splash Mountain attraction. We know a LOT of the details about this ride, but there is still so much we can’t WAIT to see when the ride opens.

We can’t wait!

So, speaking of opening, we know that the ride will open at Walt Disney World in the summer of 2024! That’s VERY soon. We’ve been keeping our eyes on the exterior construction for a loooong time, and over in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is looking AMAZING! But what about Disney World’s West Coast companion, a.k.a. the Disneyland version of the same ride? Well, let’s take a look at the current construction progress!

Disney Added Something NEW to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom!

Who wants to play a game of I-spy? We’ll go first. We spy something NEW at the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride in Disney World!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is really starting to take shape!

At this point, Imagineers have completely transformed the area that used to be home to Splash Mountain. Now, that large tree stump at the top of the mountain is gone (or is it?), and lush flowers and greenery have taken over. As Princess Tiana once sang, we “Ain’t got time for messing around,” so come with us to see the CHANGES happening in Frontierland!

PJ Morton of Maroon 5 Is Writing a NEW Song for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

You can’t ride “it’s a small world” without hearing that classic theme song, and the Haunted Mansion attraction just wouldn’t be the same without that spooky soundtrack! It may not always be the first thing you think of when a new attraction opens, but music is one of the most important parts of Disney storytelling.

Disney Didn’t Share These Details About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride…But We Will

You’ve likely already heard that the Splash Mountain ride in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World is being transformed with a new Princess and the Frog theme. We’ve heard when the rides will open, seen a lot of concept art, and even learned that more Princess and the Frog-themed areas are going to accompany the attraction. But now we’re ready to dig a little deeper and discover MORE about the new ride! (Mama Odie would be proud of that pun.)

At the 2022 D23 Expo, we got to check out a small-scale model of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (that’s the new name for the ride, in case you didn’t know). By closely examining this model, we were able to learn a LOT about what we might see when it finally opens in a couple of years! [Read more…]

NEW Concept Art Shared for Disney’s Splash Mountain Re-theme

In case you missed the HUGE news, the Splash Mountain rides in Disney World and Disneyland are going to be re-themed, with a story inspired by Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. The rides will be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and they’ll have songs and characters from the movie.

More Details Revealed About Disney’s Splash Mountain Retheme

We’ve gotten some BIG news about an upcoming Disney ride change!

We’ve known for a while that Splash Mountain in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom is set to be rethemed to a Princess and the Frog attraction, but a few days ago, Disney finally revealed the name and opening timeline for the rethemed attraction. We’ll be gearing up to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in late 2024, but now, we’ve got more information about one specific detail of the ride…Princess Tiana herself!
