According to the Walt Disney World website, there are a few changes in store for the popular Backstage Magic VIP Tour.
The 7-hour tour brings guests behind-the-scenes to “receive an up-close look into the artistry, technology, mechanical marvels and backstage secrets that go into producing world-class entertainment.” The experience includes backstage access to The American Adventure attraction in Epcot, the “Utilidor” tunnels constructed underneath Magic Kingdom, a visit to the Costuming Department, and more — including a lunch break at a Disney World table service restaurant. We stopped by Animal Kingdom this week to round up all the latest news for you! We found lots of menu updates and changes and some great new merchandise! So, let’s get to it…
If you’re looking for that adorable Simba Cupcake while you’re in Animal Kingdom, your best bet is to head to Pizzafari since it is no longer in the Creature Comforts bakery case. We did spot the Caramel Mocha and the Lotus Blossom cupcake in the lineup though!
We stopped by Animal Kingdom this week to check out all the new eats around the park. Hope you’re hungry because we have some exciting additions for you!
has added a Thai Curry Mussels appetizer with yellow curry, fennel, crostini and Nam Phrik. They’ve also added a Butter Chicken entree that comes served with a Chickpea-Rice Croquette, English Peas, Cauliflower, and Pickled Onion.
Other updates include the option to substitute Wagyu for the Tamarind Braised Short Rib entree, for an additional charge, and the Chicken and Waffles entree has been removed from the menu. [Read more…]
We’ve shown you Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (along with Toy Story Land) all dressed up for the season, now it’s time to highlight the Animal Kingdom. Their Christmas decorations are always fun to see as they incorporate themes from the park attractions and regions represented in the park. Plus, while we were taking in all the decorations we found some new menu updates as well as some must-have merchandise!
Whether this is your first or 10th visit to Animal Kingdom during Christmas be sure to take some time to look at the ornaments on the tree at the entrance to the park. They are both representative of the park, and also feature some favorite Disney characters!

Good news for coffee lovers out there who don’t want to stand in a Starbucks line for a cup of regular brewed coffee – the hot dog cart located near Pizzafari and Tiffins now has coffee available starting at park open and is typically available until around 1pm.

The chefs at Tiffins have been busy! There is a new lunch tasting menu as well as other new items on their menu including Peaches and Cream appetizer, Crispy Corn Cake entree, and a Tiffins Dessert Trio. The Lunch Tasting Menu is served from 11:30 – 3:30 and is $35.00 per person. It includes choice of one appetizer and one entree OR choice of one entree and one dessert.
