It’s been a busy week so we’ve got plenty of dining, construction, and merchandise updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump right on in!
Back in December, restaurants in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District faced another round temporary closures due to a regional Stay-At-Home order mandated by the California Governor. And, it wasn’t until recently that California lifted the order, meaning that outdoor dining can return to the state.
This means that active eating and drinking are allowed again at Downtown Disney as long as guests are stationary and physically distanced. In response, we’re now starting to see restaurants announcing their reopening dates. And, today three joined the list and are set to open at the end of the month!
Disneyland might not be open yet (and we miss it dearly), but Downtown Disney has still been one of our favorite date night or family getaway spots recently. As restaurants have continued to open in the shopping and dining district, table-service locations have been modifying their experiences with limited capacity, seating, and menus. BUT, they’re just as great as we remember them to be!
Downtown Disney dining has been exclusively offering outdoor seating for guests to relax and enjoy their meals in the nice California weather. For a while, select restaurants started to reintroduce indoor dining again (with limited capacity) once California law permitted it, but they’ve since been pushed back to only outdoor dining, as the county Disneyland resides in has moved to the strictest tier of the state’s Coronavirus protocols. Although Disneyland and California Adventure remain closed, Downtown Disney reopened this summer. But some restaurants there are still closed and others are slowly reopening.
While the table service restaurant Tortilla Jo’s has reopened, its quick service location, Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s, is still closed.
Who’s ready for some fall treats??
We’ve been tasting our way around all of the fall and Halloween themed treats in Disney World, but what about Disneyland?? We have spotted a few seasonal snacks in Downtown Disney, like the pumpkin spice churro, but now we have a TON of treats to look forward to snagging on our next visit! Here’s a look at the autumn-themed eats coming to Downtown Disney this season!
Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park may still be closed, but that hasn’t stopped us from having a fun time over in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District.
And, while we’ve enjoyed eating at some of our favorite spots in their outdoor seating areas, we’re now starting to get more information about when restaurants in Downtown Disney should be seating guests indoors!

Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort reopened on July 9th under new health and safety regulations.
The new California health regulation only allows restaurants with outdoor seating to remain open. Despite having outdoor seating, some Downtown Disney restaurants like Tortilla Jo’s remained closed while places like Uva Bar and Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria opened with the rest of the shopping and dining district.
