What Happens When the Monorail Goes Down in Disney World?

Sometimes, things don’t always go as planned in Disney World.

For example, sometimes your favorite ride might be closed, either for refurbishment or a temporary closure due to a technical issue. Sometimes the unpredictable Florida weather can mean rain that comes out of nowhere and closes down all the outdoor rides. Sometimes it’s so hot that your ice cream melts before you can eat it. I Just Realized I’ve Been Taking the WRONG BUS To EPCOT For Years Now

We go to Disney World every day, and not only have we learned a thing or two about Disney World, but we have also heard some cringey things while we are out and about in the parks.

Now, we know that we have extensive knowledge of Disney, and not everyone cares to memorize every piece of information about Disney World, like where all the best bathrooms are, where you should eat for breakfast, and the hundreds of Disney facts like we do. We go to Disney World every single day, and well, let’s just say we’ve seen some things.

One thing we’ve seen is EPCOT completely change into something we almost don’t recognize now (and we mean that in the best way possible). We’ve also seen baby animals born at Disney World, as well as Disney ducks being treated like the royalty they are (maybe Donald is right and ducks are #1). We’ve also seen some cringey things, but more importantly, we’ve heard some cringey things. So let’s talk about one of the places, the Monorail, in Disney World where we’ve heard things that make us shake our heads.

This morning we were evacuated off a Disney ride…BEFORE ENTERING THE PARK!

A quick transportation synopsis for those unfamiliar with how parking works at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom: the park’s lots are located near the Transportation and Ticket Center (the TTC) and unless one wants to walk the whole way, they’ll need to take some form of Disney transportation to the theme park’s front gate after parking their car. Options include the Monorail, ferry boats, and in our unfortunate case today – parking lot trams.

If you have been to Walt Disney World, you have probably found yourself fighting through the Transportation and Ticket Center (also lovingly known as the TTC) on many occasions.

We have a love-hate relationship with this part of Disney World. Honestly, a little more hate than love, but it is one of the necessities to grab transportation to Magic Kingdom if you are driving your own car. You can park in the massive parking lot here and grab a ferry or monorail to Magic Kingdom, or a monorail to EPCOT.
