The sun is shining, the monorail is broken…WAIT, the monorail is broken?! Yep, that’s right folks — perhaps the most popular form of Disney World transportation is currently broken and that means there are some problems at the Transportation & Ticket Center (AKA Magic Kingdom’s parking lot). What’s going on? Well, allow us to show you!
If you ever drive to or around Disney World/Orlando, you may be familiar with the roads surrounding the property — but some CHANGES could be coming to the area in the future.

We have seen some pretty big transportation updates related to Orlando lately — from new airlines arriving at the airport, concept art for what the Brightline train station will look like in the airport, and news about the path the Brightline train may take through Orlando (and “near” Disney World). And now we’ve got another update that could impact your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

It certainly makes things convenient just to be able to hop on a bus, the Monorail, the Skyliner, or a boat to get to where you’re going, right? But what happens when one of those is down? Recently, TWO of those modes of transportation were down!

Disney World’s Skyliner
Disney World has all kinds of free transportation for you to use to get between the parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. There’s a fleet of buses, a few Monorail lines, boats, and the Skyliner. It’s fun to use the more unique options, like the Monorail and Skyliner, and they’re often faster than the buses and boats anyways. But if you were planning to ride the Skyliner, you need to watch out for its scheduled CLOSURE.

This is the time of year when Disney World does a lot of refurbishments at the resort, so you might be surprised to find that certain rides are down, hotel pools are closed, and more. As of today, though, a mode of Disney World transportation is closed for refurbishment.
Disney World has a variety of transportation options when it comes to traveling within the resort. You have their classic buses, the iconic Monorail, a few boats, and a newer system called the Skyliner.

This gondola system is a new favorite for many guests. Plus, it stops at several resorts and parks, making it not only novel but convenient.
One of the biggest perks of staying at a Disney World resort is having access to Disney World’s vast transportation system.

If you need to get somewhere in Disney World, all you need to do is hop on a bus, a boat, the Monorail, or the Skyliner. However, when a mode of transportation goes down in Disney World, it could put a wrench in your plans. That’s why we’re reminding you that the Skyliner will be closed very soon!
The one thing that is inevitable at Disney World is change, but we’ve seen a LOT of change over the past few years.
