Guest Review: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Treats

I’m excited to welcome Guest Reviewer Holly Burtchaell from Random Cravings Blog with a fun review of treats found at this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World! Warning: This read is sugar-sweet!

Although Mr. Random and I have clocked too many trips to Disney World to count, somehow, neither of us has ever experienced Christmas at the Happiest Place on Earth. Luckily, that all changed last week, when we spent an entire week immersed in Disney Christmas happiness. In fact, this year’s very first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) was also our very first time at that event!

I quickly learned that in addition to being about the Christmas parade, the special fireworks, and the rare character appearances, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is also filled with yummy holiday treats!

Included with your ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are complimentary cookies and hot cocoa, along with healthier options of apple slices and apple juice. These treats were handed out at several locations around the Magic Kingdom…just follow the signs!

Halloween treats continue to materialize around Walt Disney World in preparation for the fun this Fall. We reported on a few a couple of weeks ago, and Heather showcased some in Disneyland on Thursday; but there are even more to enjoy during this spooky season!

Holiday and Christmas Treats in Disney World

Yep — Christmas has come to Disney World! It showed up around Wednesday of last week and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing!

Lucky for you and me, my Mom and Dad are in Disney World this week and I’ve been getting a steady feed of photos sent to the coffer each day!

A trip to Downtown Disney in Anaheim is never complete without a visit to Marceline’s Confectionery. Named after Walt Disney’s hometown, this yummy paradise has everything your sweet tooth desires. Cookes of Dublin and the “Unique Doh-Bar”

Here’s one of those Disney World gems that you don’t even know is there. You stumble across it on your way to the movie theater, or to the Lego store, or to World of Disney. It’s not in your dining plans, because you didn’t know it existed, but you’re hungry, so you’ll take a second to see what they’ve got on the menu…

Well, let me just say that Cookes of Dublin has quite a menu. It’s chock full of your favorite stereotypical Irish cuisine — hand-battered daily fish selections, fresh chips (fries), beef and lamb pie, crushed peas, and Irish sausages — but they also cook up some interesting extras, like chicken wings in Whiskey and crushed pepper glaze, “skinny” chips with curry dip, Atlantic sea scallops, and even a hand-battered beef burger.
