Sure, there’s a bunch of exciting news coming out around Disney World today like details about Space 220 in Epcot or reports from inside Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios, but there are some updates over at Magic Kingdom too! As you probably know, we’ve been keeping a close eye on construction progress over at the new Tomorrowland coaster in Magic Kingdom. We’ve seen the building structure appear and the arrival of interior and exterior portions of the track. Well, the TRON team is celebrating a big construction milestone and has shared a sneak peek at the behind-the-scenes of the coaster!

And while the ride isn’t slated to open until 2021 (just in time for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration!) we’ve seen A LOT of progress over the last few days!

The Magic Kingdom is hoppin’! Before we even got into the park we saw construction and changes at the parking lot trams, then spotted MORE construction updates around Cinderella Castle and on the new Tron attraction. And that’s all before we checked on the park-wide transition to paper straws, noticed the return of the Mickey sippers, and checked out a ton of new merchandise…

Let’s start out with the construction progress on the Tron attraction.
Mickey’s 90th birthday celebrations continue in the Magic Kingdom with Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration. We spotted the return of the festive looking Mickey Confetti Pretzel on our visit to the park this week as well as new menu items, new merchandise, and construction updates.
