After all the whirlwind announcements we heard at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we had been waiting for Disney to make a move on the transformation of DinoLand, U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom to the Tropical Americas.

We learned that an Indiana Jones ride is poised to take over DINOSAUR, while an Encanto attraction will also be part of this new land. We had seen some initial permits filed a while back, but now it looks like things are really kicking into gear!
We just got news that Disney World will be getting eight new rides!
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event
These new attractions are spread across the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. While EPCOT is not getting any new attractions, Test Track 3.0 will open in 2025, and there will be a brand new Spaceship Earth Lounge! As for the new rides, we are a little worried that two of them will fall victim to the theme park ride screen epidemic.Â
Disney announced that the Tropical Americas will be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and we couldn’t be more hyped about it!

With the DinoLand, U.S.A. re-theme, we’ll be getting experiences inspired by both Encanto and Indiana Jones coming to the new land! Specifically focusing in on Encanto, there will be an attraction inside the Casita and we’ve got to talk about it!

In case you missed it, D23, The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, took place earlier this month in Anaheim, California, and Disney gave us a glimpse at a bunch of new projects. During the Park Panel, we found out about additions coming to Disney Cruise Line, the international parks, Disneyland, and, of course, Disney World. Each of Disney World’s four parks is slated to get new additions. While it has been a long time coming, it was officially announced that DinoLand U.S.A. will transform into a Tropical Americas Land by 2027. There were three rides announced for this overhaul, but people seem only to be talking about two of the attractions.Â

One of the most anticipated events of the weekend was the Horizons: Disney Experiences Panel. This panel was focused on the parks, resorts, cruises, and more. In this panel, Disney usually shares a lot about their upcoming plans, and Disney did not hold back on the announcements this year. Â

Disney had a BUSY night on August 10th at the Disney Experiences Showcase: Horizons at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. We heard HUGE news about Disney parks, cruise ships, and even video games. Disney dropped new nighttime entertainment coming to Magic Kingdom, new lands headed to Magic Kingdom, and, of course, they talked about the re-theming of DinoLand, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom. The last we heard about this re-theming project was that the land was going to become the Tropical Americas, but now, we have a name for the new land along with the Disney movie inspiration and new rides!

We’ve been attending D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend and have been getting all the news about what Disney has in the plans for their theme parks, film and television programming, and beyond. We’ve been waiting for MONTHS to hear more about the DinoLand, U.S.A. re-theming into the Tropical Americas, and now it’s finally here!
Pretty sure y’all have been waiting for this one…because I definitely have!! You might discount Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but I am here to tell you that YOU SHOULD NOT. This park is magical, y’all, and I’m going to prove it to you today!
Animal Kingdom
I’ve always known that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is amazing, stupendous, incredible, insert-other-great-adjectives here. But now, I wanna make sure YOU know it, too! While many folks tend to write this park off as a half-day-er (which can be understandable, since it has fewer attractions than its three older sibling parks), you can EASILY fill a full day here, just by tracking down the AWESOME things we’re gonna talk about today!
