We have definitely had our fair share of snacks and treats at BoardWalk Bakery!
But today we’re moving away from the sweet and headed to a totally savory (and delicious) sandwich that’s a holiday delight!
Thanksgiving may only be one day a year, but you can enjoy this turkey treat ALL season long exclusively at the 2019 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
We’re headed to Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom for this party exclusive!
No visit to Animal Kingdom is complete without a stop at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery in Harambe Village.
Located near the almost always hoppin’ entrance to Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kusafiri has held plenty of little surprises for us in the past. Though it’s literally just a hole-in-the-wall operation, this simple setting has been known to play host to some big name treats.
My recent visit was inspired by the rumors I’d heard regarding some menu changes, and lo and behold, that was indeed the case. It looks like Kusafiri is joining the list of Animal Kingdom eateries preparing to be part of an all-day park once the Rivers of Light spectacular brings evening entertainment to Animal Kingdom later this spring.
As the resident coffee shop and bakery of Harambe Village, you would likely expect to see morning grabs like coffee and pastries on the menu. But the options have expanded to include four new Paninis, bringing full lunch or dinner options to Kusafiri for the first time.
Time to step up to the window and have a look!
I’ll start by noting that, though there are new sandwich additions, the snack options have dwindled down a bit. But they’ve held onto some standbys like croissants, Elephant Ears and Warm Colossal Cinnamon Rolls. (And don’t forget you can still find the Tree of Life and Cotton-top Tamarin Cupcakes in several other locations around the park. But no more cupcakes at Kusafiri… at least for now.)

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in all of Walt Disney World is Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. And this time of year, who can pass up the chance to eat the Pilgrim’s Feast?

Today, we head to Tomorrowland for a visit to an “out-of-this-world” dining spot — Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe!
Situated on the corner between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, this spot actually boasts views of Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Main Street USA, and the Castle Hub!
With plenty of standard American fast food offerings, you’ll find lots of options to please pickier eaters here. And while at first glance the atmosphere isn’t all that interesting, it holds a few surprises.
Let’s head in and see what Cosmic Ray’s has to offer these days!
Cosmic Ray’s takes up a huge chunk of real estate right on the edge of Tomorrowland. The vibe is retro-future, much like the rest of the land. If you are a big fan of The Jetsons, Lost in Space, and the People Mover, this is the place for you!
Inside, you’ll find ample indoor and outdoor seating on a couple of different levels. And here’s a surprise — if you’re a newbie to Cosmic Ray’s: there’s a floor show!
Throughout the day, animatronic alien lounge singer Sonny Eclipse comes to life and entertains you with his signature disco-blues style that is both futuristic and retro at once. Listen closely to the songs to get a few laughs.
The area where Sonny performs does tend to be a little loud, so if you aren’t a fan of talking over music while you eat, there is also inside seating on the upper level that’s a bit set apart from the noise.
The restaurant also boasts lots of [Read more…]

Happy Turkey Day, Everyone!
Sad to say I won’t be spending Thanksgiving Day strolling down Main Street or awaiting my turn in Cars Land. But that doesn’t stop me of dreaming about all things turkey — and more precisely, all things Disney turkey!
You know how much we lurve a good crawl around here, so if you love turkey, I say skip the fancy sit down dinner and take a more progressive approach to your fall feast with the 2012 Disney Food Blog Turkey Crawl!
Since we know you have many foods to happily consume this holiday week, we are limiting the challenge to only four stops with a whole lot of latitude. However, there are definitely some other favorites that would be perfect additions (Earl of Sandwich Holiday Turkey Sandwich, anyone?)!
There is no way we could even suggest a turkey crawl without mentioning the quintessential Disney turkey treat: the Smoked Turkey Leg!
Juicy, smokey, and big enough to count as a meal (or two), you may reach your turkey tipping point after consuming just one of these.
You’ll find the primal treats in all four Disney World parks!
When it’s time to move onto the sandwich course (is there such a thing?) head over to one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite: Starring Rolls Cafe for the huge Turkey Foccacia Sandwich.
Turkey is stacked high and [Read more…]
