There are quite a few rides and attractions to choose from at Disney World, and it feels like the number continues to grow! Thinking about that and since it’s the new year, we figured we could at what will be the most popular rides at Disney World in 2024!
We just saw two Disney World rides shut down for lengthy refurbishments, with both Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom closing on January 8th. But now, two MORE Disney World closures are starting this week!

Two Disney World rides will close THIS WEEK for LONG refurbishments! Disney occasionally has to shut down rides and attractions in order to update them, and although sometimes those closures only last a few days, this time two rides will be closed for multiple months.

In December 2023, we heard that Disney was permanently closing the Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
We haven’t seen the show performed since 2020 when the parks closed due to the pandemic. Since then, we have been waiting with bated breath for it to reopen. However, Disney announced that the show was going to be closing permanently to make way for something brand new — “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure”. We said goodbye to Splash Mountain, the Galactic Starcruiser Hotel, Harmonious, Tokyo Dining, and more, but there were some attractions and restaurants we still weren’t sure about. Disney hadn’t made any sort of announcements about these spots for quite some time — but now we have an official answer about one!

One merchandise stand that’s been closed for three years FINALLY reopened in EPCOT, but there’s another stand that’s still closed in this park!

Disney has to close restaurants, attractions, snack stands, and other locations occasionally in order to complete refurbishments and update the spaces. For some of these smaller stands, it’s possible that there simply aren’t enough Cast Members to keep them all open. Whatever the resason, this EPCOT snack stand is closed with no reopening date in sight!
