Hurricane Debby, upgraded from Tropical Storm Debby, has made landfall in the Florida Big Bend Region, and with it has come storms across Florida.
Hurricane Debby is causing LOTS of rain!
While the theme parks in Orlando are still open and operating, the Orlando International Airport (MCO) is having a rougher time. If you’re flying into or out of Orlando today, August 5th, be prepared for some flight changes!
Hurricane Debby strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane overnight and made landfall on Florida’s Big Bend region early Monday morning.
Magic Kingdom
The hurricane is expected to bring major flooding over the southeastern United States in the next few days and certain areas are still being threatened by the possibility of tornadoes.
Welcome to August. Before too long, Disney World is about to go SPOOKY — the Halloween decorations will be going up in Magic Kingdom ANY DAY NOW.
Loaded Burnt End Fries are BACK in EPCOT
Disney recently revealed some of the Halloween snacks we’ll be seeing in the parks throughout the season. We also recently celebrated the return of one of our favorite snacks in EPCOT. While we’re waiting for more details about the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival (you can release those food booth menus any day now, Disney), we’ve been checking menus at Disney World restaurants, and yep, we’ve got some changes to tell you about.

The movie has performed extremely well, and Disney has even brought the dynamic duo to Disney California Adventure in Disneyland. We’ve seen a new popcorn bucket, photo ops, pins, and so much more showcasing and promoting the new, hilarious Marvel movie. Now, we’ve even found a set of donuts that just make us want to go, “Aww…”
It’s spooky season, and you know what that means, right? It’s the time of year when Disney starts dropping NEW Haunted Mansion souvenirs and collectibles.
The Haunted Mansion
Now, we’d buy Haunted Mansion stuff year-round (hint, hint, Disney), but we love it when all kinds of new collectibles drop. A new Haunted Mansion collection has just arrived online, but we do have a word of warning: this one could hurt your pocketbook (but in a good way). We are all foolish mortals, after all, right?
It might still feel like summer (an extremely hot summer) outside, but in our hearts, it’s already fall.

Hey, don’t come at us. Fall brings all our favorite things like Halloween (and Halloween season is technically here), the Starbucks fall menu (pumpkin spice EVERYTHING), seasonal snacks, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World and Oogie Boogie Bash in Disneyland. Fall is also bringing a NEW dining experience soon, and you can now make reservations for it!

Haunted Mansion just re-opened after a lengthy refurbishment and the holiday overlay was installed. And we’re waiting for some big anouncements about new things coming to the parks — we’re hoping to hear more at the d23 Ultimate Fan Convention August 9th-11th.
We’re just going to warn you now: hurricane season means rainy season in Disney World.
Rainy day in Animal Kingdom
You know those random Florida thunderstorms that pop up in the middle of the day in the summer? Well, we’ve got those to deal with plus tropical storms and hurricanes to deal with, too. That means you are going to get VERY wet if you don’t have the right rain gear. Here’s the good news: we tested out a new poncho recently, and we loved it so much that we’re going to HIGHLY recommend you get it and keep it in your Disney day bag…you can thank us later.
If you’ve been hanging ’round these parts for awhile, you probably know about the WORST waffle news of the summer…the big change to the Waffle Sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom.
Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich
Remember the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich that came with bananas, berries and chocolate-hazelnut spread? Well, there are no more waffle sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow — they’ve been replaced by Mickey Waffles that we do not like nearly as much. But Disney is offering a simple addition now for $1 that could make your Mickey Waffle snack better!
Okay, we’re just going to say it: you should NOT be walking by Joffrey’s in Disney World.
Joffrey’s Near Canada
First, you can get coffee at Joffrey’s with shorter lines than Starbucks (and we’ll argue that some of the Joffrey’s drinks are BETTER). But you can also get some really good cookies like the Tower of Terror cookie or the Team Blue cookie — who can resist ride-themed cookies? Well, Joffrey’s just dropped a NEW cookie, and we think it could be one of the best cookies in Disney World — yep, we said it!
