I first saw this little guy at The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on a trip to the World in February, and I couldn’t wait to try it!

This counter service spot is a great place to grab really interesting and healthier-for-you quick options, like the Chicken Pita or African Stew.

But they offer some pretty amazing sweet treats as well! The legendary Zebra Domes are well documented, but I’m pretty sure this one will catch some serious fans as well. I thought it was my beloved Mickey Ganache Tart, but I was in for a surprise…

I was seriously over the moon about the Mickey Ganache Tart the first time I had it while visiting Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland. It quickly became one of my all time favorite Disney sweet treats!

So I was super excited when I started seeing similar tarts pop up in Disney World bakery cases as well — including here at The Mara.

This seemed to be a slight variation on the original. To begin, there was no adorable little white chocolate Mickey face, but that wasn’t a deal breaker. And the star-shaped sprinkles provided a whimsical touch.

SO exciting!! Epcot’s France has been undergoing a culinary transformation this year with the opening of Monsieur Paul Restaurant and Boulangerie Patisserie Les Halles. And now the final puzzle piece is in place!

This space, formerly occupied by the old Boulangerie Patisserie, is a perfect location for the new sweet stop. And featuring sixteen icy, delicious flavors (and an extra surprise I’ll mention in a moment), I know it’s going to be an instant hit — especially during the Orlando Summer! Let’s head in and check it out…

Review: Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion

This fantastic little wine bar, located in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion, has been open for a whole year. Can you believe it?

It’s amazing to think it’s been that long — and yet, one step into the cozy spot, and you’d swear it’s been there forever. In short order, Tutto Gusto has become one of our favorite stops in Epcot.

Time to check in and see how it’s going in this rustic wine bar after a full year of serving guests!

Stepping into the inviting Tutto Gusto is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of World Showcase.

While the space is intimate and cozy, it’s also wonderfully dim and cool. Whether you’re escaping cold temps on a (very rare) chilly day, or you’re taking a break from the heat, you’ll breathe a sigh of relief as soon as you settle into a chair.

Once your eyes adjust a bit, you’re greeted by a comfortable, rustic setting. The bricked, vaulted ceilings immediately convey a feeling of antiquity. Couches, dark woods, and low tables invite you to sit and linger over small plates and glasses of wine.

Best Disney Peanut Butter Treats

Um…is it seriously possible that I haven’t already written this post?!?

You guys know how much I lurve peanut butter and anything peanut buttery, so I’m pretty surprised I haven’t done this article yet for you. BUT, it’s time to correct that error!!

As you can imagine, this is such an epic post that it will encompass my favorite peanut butter treats in both Disney World and Disneyland. If you’ve ever needed a reason to visit one or the other of the coasts, but haven’t been able to come up with one…well, you’re welcome.

Get ready to crave!

Peanut Butter, Banana, and Candied Bacon Pie at BoardWalk Bakery

One of the newer PB treats that I’ve run across is the fantastic Peanut Butter, Banana, and Candied Bacon Pie. Find this incredible square-shaped tart at the newly renovated BoardWalk Bakery (read our complete review of the brand new space here.)

The pie has everything. Check out the combo of sweet-salty all smooshed together into a soft and crunchy texture.

Even though it’s brand new, it’s already a classic in my book.

If you haven’t made a visit to the new BoardWalk Bakery, drop what you’re doing and go. Now. (And bring me one of these.)

That filling is like nothing you’ve ever had before… . Sigh.

Peanut Butter Brownie Creme Sandwich at Earl of Sandwich

I’ve gotta admit…this is one of my favorite sandwiches at the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney.

While the regular sammys are great here (my favorite is the Italian Sandwich), their Brownie Frosting Sandwiches (or brownie creme sandwiches as they call them) are totally where it’s at. These come in vanilla and chocolate as well as the decadent Peanut Butter Brownie Sandwich.

Two super-moist, super-fudgy brownies (with chocolate chunks in ’em, too!) envelop a thick serving of peanut butter filling. And the peanut butter here isn’t whipped or light — it’s full-on peanut-butter-cup-filling.

Nice and dense, it’s the perfect consistency to stand up to the brownie. This one is a must-try.

Ah, such an unassuming name for such a knock-em-dead treat. The Disneyland Peanut Butter Sandwich may be the perfect peanut butter and chocolate snack.

Dining in Disneyland: The Return (and New Menu!) of Troubadour Tavern

After being closed for several months for the refurbishment of its neighbor, the Fantasyland Theatre, the Troubadour Tavern has reopened with a smaller, but still worth-a-visit menu.

With Mickey and the Magical Map opening this week at the Theatre next door, the Troubadour Tavern is back open and ready for guests to grab a snack while they watch the show.

Located in Fantasyland, directly next to the Fantasyland Theatre, Troubadour Tavern is quaint little counter service snack stop.

There is a small area with a few shaded tables for dining if you’re visiting for eats only. If you’re there to see Mickey and the Magical Map, you can bring your food into the theatre.

The look of the Tavern has not changed, but there is a significant difference in the menu items. The most obvious change? The baked potatoes did not make a comeback.

Not to worry though, the Disneyland baked potatoes were moved to Harbour Galley during the closure of Troubadour Tavern and they will remain at Harbour Galley. So you can still get your baked potato fix if you need it!

There are currently 4 “main” items on the Troubadour Tavern menu: The Bratwurst Sausage, Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce, a Cinnamon Apple Baton, & Apple Slices with Caramel Dipping Sauce.

It was AWESOME sharing the adventures of so many DFB readers on Friday as they braved the crowds for 24 hours in the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure during the Monstrous Summer Kick-Off! You can see some of the yummy Monstrous treats that were served here!

But now that Summer has begun, we’ve got more to look forward to, like the opening of Starbucks on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, and the opening of the new Ice Cream and Gelato shop in Epcot’s France! Looking forward to bringing you all the details!

As we reported last year, the Main Street Bakery in the Magic Kingdom is now under refurb to bring Starbucks to Disney World. We’ve been anxiously awaiting news of its re-opening, and it looks like we’re getting closer and closer!
