With 98 restaurants on property and counting, Walt Disney World is a food connoisseur’s Mecca. With offerings from German, American, Asian, Haute Cuisine, Bistro and everything in between, there is something for every discriminating palate. Even guests with any food allergies can be accommodated. But an important part of the food scene in Disney is the counter-service or “quick service” restaurants. “You Won’t Believe This!” Snack: Giant Gummy Bear

OK, I think it’s part of my job to keep you guys updated on fun and delicious Disney foods that you can find in Disney Parks and Resorts. This is why I’m always showcasing things like the butterfinger cupcake, that incredible Earl of Sandwich brownie frosting sandwich of wonderfulness, and plastic cheese.

But sometimes, a food makes it into the list of “You Won’t Believe This!” Snacks not because it’s heaven on Earth to eat, but because it strikes just the right combination of creepy, alien, and partly-delicious/partly-gross to be outrageous. Today, that’s the Giant Gummy Bear.

Woo hoo! Just wanted to remind everyone before we start the round-up: We were finally able to announce the winners of the WDW Foodie Fest Scavenger Hunt! (And thank the volunteers and sponsors as well!)

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Food Pictures: Puerto Rico, Hops & Barley, Poland Booths

It’s time for more 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival booth food pictures! Puerto Rico
I’m pretty sure Puerto Rico was my husband’s favorite booth, and in spite of the slight cilantro taste to the soup, it was one of my favorites as well! The incredible medianoche sandwich was a surprising winner — savory, warm, and just perfect for a midnight kitchen raid! 😉 And the asopao de pollo had some serious flavor going on! It was a huge portion, and delicious.

The Bacardi Torched Frozen Cherry Colada was incredible. Creamy, cool, sweet, and just enough tang to keep you interested. It is one of my favorite items in the festival! You can see more pictures, the full menu, and prices on our Puerto Rico Booth Page!

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Seminar Review: Chefs Keegan Gerhard and Lisa Bailey

OK. Not really. But I did spend an hour with them. And about 50 other people! 😉

That’s right, I pulled myself out of bed the day the Epcot Food and Wine Festival low-cost seminars went on sale and booked this one first! I’m a huge fan of Chef Gerhard’s and couldn’t wait to see what he and wife Chef Lisa Bailey would prepare! I knew they owned and operated d Bar Desserts in Denver, so I was assuming it’d be something delicious and sweet!

Disneyland’s World of Color Picnic Review: The All American Picnic

This summer, Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort premiered its new nighttime spectacular — World of Color. Because they knew demand for viewing would be high, they also announced World of Color Dining Packages and World of Color Picnics that guests could book ahead of time to lock in their viewing spot! Heather Sievers, the multi-talented inventor of Time Out Spots AND our Disneyland correspondent and food expert, got the chance to try out the World of Color picnic recently! Here’s her review…

Since we like to explore all Disney dining options, and my family had already done the World of Color Premium Dining at Ariel’s Grotto, our next step was to check out the World of Color Picnic Meals.

Picnic Specifics
I have to say for the price, you really can not go wrong. Picnic meals can be ordered one to 30 days in advance. You must order them online and then pick up your “voucher” at the main entrance ticket booths. Meals are just $12.99 for annual pass holders and $14.99 without a pass (still a bargain!) and must be picked up just around the corner from the Wine Country Trattoria. There are a handful of options, but in our case, we ordered “All Americans” all around.
